Leo Carrillo State Park, Malibu

I just went to Leo Carrillo for the first time today and absolutely loved it! It's an amazing spot for checking out marine life (sea anemones, sea stars, barnacles, flat works, etc.). I'm planning on making more trips out there whenever I have free time. It's a great place to watch the sunset, too!

I have been coming to Leo carrillo since I was a young girl. Every third week in June our family would get together for a family reunion. Great memories have been created there as a child, a teenager and as a mother with my own children. I've moved out of California and have not been able to attend the reunions but I will always cherish the memories made on that beautiful beach and can't wait to go back some day.

I took my dogs there and they loved it! They could finally dig that hole to China they always wanted! For first timers with they're K-9 pals I'd recommend a long leash so they could run and enjoy it better.

This beach is VERY Clean and the water is clear. The sand is very soft. Cost for parking is $10. One of the best beaches for dogs.

The Beach is Peaceful and beautiful! My parents took me when I was just a little girl and I loved it. It's a great beach to have a family reunion and just to camp with the family!

Leo Carrillo is one of my families favorites because of the proximety to home and the cool beach. There are tidepools to explore and a cave to play in. The campgrounds are big with giant sycamore trees. But plan ahead, it fills up fast especially in the summer

i have been taking dogs to this great beach for over 30 years! it is absolutely the greatest experience! Back in the day when it was an off-leash beach and there weren't as many visitors, was the best, but for those that want their dogs to enjoy the fresh air and ocean you'll not be disappointed.

Leo has been our home for one week of the year for 18 years now, this May 2007 we had 12 sites, over 61 family & friends. One of our group even got married here. A few of us want our ashes scattered here. Leo has something so special about it...nice camp sites, convenient little store, beautiful beaches and a "family" feeling. First we brought our kids here, now we bring our grandkids. All of us say we will come here forever. The canyon can be a little chilly in the afternoon/evening when the wind goes through it. The beach is usually very nice. Our kids have always had a great experience here & I would recommend it to everyone.

I LOVE CAMPING AT LEO CARILLO BECAUSE OF THE SHADY OUT OF THE WAY SPOTS, IF YOU'RE LUCKY ENOUGH TO GET ONE! THE BEACH IS SO CLOSE TO CAMP AND IS A GREAT PLACE FOR THE KIDS TO EXPLORE. THE LITTLE STORE THERE IS SO CONVENIENT IN THE EVENT YOU HAPPEN TO FORGET SOMETHING. I RECOMMEND IT TO EVERYONE, BUT BE SURE TO MAKE RESERVATIONS IN ADVANCE BECAUSE IT IS A VERY POPULAR PLACE!!

I have been going here all my life and I love it! The camping is always very peaceful. The facilities are kept up daily by the staff and the scenary at the beach is undescribable. Either a romantic get away or fun family vacation, this is totally the place to have a great time!
