One of my all-time favorite local places.

My father, Joseph, took me fishing on Malibu Pier on a regular basis, starting when I was ten years old. The first time I fished there I caught a twenty pound halibut. I was thrilled on that occasion, and I always looked forward to being there again and again. My mother, Bernice, was a very fine cook, and I almost always enjoyed her preparing meals for me (I have never had a brother or a sister), I strongly wish that the pier was open again. I haven't lived in my home town, Los Angeles, for forty years. But I would love to be there again fairly often. Sincerely, Dr. Mark L. Berman
