Knott's Berry Farm
Knott's Berry Farm, home to the Peanuts characters, has been a long-time favorite for families visiting the Orange County area. You'll find culturally-themed areas including Fiesta Village, Indian Trails and Independence Hall, where visitors get a look at the influence of these cultures on California life. There are also themed rides such as the Xcelerator and Montezooma's Revenge. Other areas such as The Boardwalk feature rides like Supreme Scream which, measuring in at an astounding 312 feet (95.098 meters), is the tallest structure in the county. Overall, if you're looking for something to please the kids (and maybe give yourself a rest), Knott's is a truly excellent choice. Operational hours vary from day to day, please check website for more details.
Knott's Berry Farm has great rides, great food, great prices, smaller crowds and just a fun place to visit. Disneyland has become a place of tension, frustration and not much fun anymore. Disney still relies on old boring rides that may get minor updates from time to time. Another problem is the Disney parades, they cause major pedestrian jams or should I say one big cattle drive. Forget Disney and go to Knotts, youll save money and have a much better time. Disneyland use to be fun, but not anymore.
Our 2 year old had the time of his life. Was able to ride no less than 5 rides, with a parent of course. We are buying annual pass's for ourselves. Food at Friday's ( which is just outside the main entrance) fed our son for free :)
For dinner, do not miss the fried chicken...god's gift...yummo.
Not to mention the fresh pies and...could go on.......
Chk knott's web site for discounts through Pepsi and AAA.
Knott's is the best! It's such a great value, theres always special discounts going on. I live in az, but travel to CA several times a year just for Knott's. There's something fun for everyone. Silverbullet and Xcelerater are the best!
Knotts is great. It stands out even though it is less than 10 minutes from Disneyland. It has better rides, and the crowds are never as hectic. The rides are great for older kids, and the roller coasters are some of the best south of LA. They all are fast, thrilling coasters that knock your socks off. Also, Knotts has the best water ride ever, Perilous Plunge. It has an 120-ft drop at 75 degrees. Its splash s 45 ft high! Overall, Knotts is great!
Well, the title may be a little deceiving considering that maybe Disneyland is the best amusement park in SoCal, but Knott's is the best deal and offers great rides. I recommend for ppl planning to visit SoCal in the fall to buy tickets in advance to go during Knott's Scary Farm, which runs from late Sept. to the first or second day of November. It is a month-long event where the park is transformed into a giant "haunted house" during the evening hours. This is a park that is family friendly and also for the twenty-something crowd.
Much of the charm of the old Knotts Berry Farm has been lost in making way for modern thrill rides, it is a muddied mix of the old and new.I first visited the park as a child and at various times during the last fourty years. The wooden roller coaster while thrilling is also the most uncomfortable ride in the park. It is brutal to ride on, and old wooden coaster riders will love it. the scenery and continuity as I said before is confusing as to what the park wants to be. Charming casual parts of the park have been removed such as the Camino Real exhibits. Too bad the rides could not have mirrored the old time motif originally started. Overall it is an ok park to visit. We did Disneyland and Knotts both. In the future I will take the crowds and Disney Land over KBF.
