Redondo Beach Pier

Description

Rodendo Beach Pier, recently renovated after a disastrous fire, is one of the most beloved and popular spots in Los Angeles . Hundreds of people come here daily to stroll the 70,000-square-foot landmark located in King Harbor. There are a few small shops and some great fast-food restaurants serving burgers, fish and chips, and more. It is a refreshing spot to watch a sunset before catching dinner in one of the nearby restaurants.

I miss my hang out
By stygianwolfe, 5/19/10
I no longer live in California, but whenever I go back to visit,I make time for the pier in Redondo Beach.Sunset(or right before is the best time to go) and for Dining There is El Torito, or better yet, Tony's on the pier.If you Choose Tony's,Get the Clam Chowder, its the best.We have eaten here often and the Chowder is great on cold days in Winter. There is an arcade downstairs in the basement area of the pier, so if you have children, bring quarters. Its a great way to spend the day with the family. Enjoy it as much as I do.

I went to Redondo last summer with my boyfriend and his family. I will never forget it i love the beach it was so clean seriously no seaweed and it was amazing..our hotel was right across from joes crad shack and they had a place where the kids could play that had the ocean water and playground it was like a little beach for the kids. I would go back there anytime heck it i had the money i would live there :) We are going to laguna beach this summer and i cant wait!

Dont need to go again
By AmberA, 7/23/08
I guess its good to go there once to see it but i wouldnt make a special trip for it or get to excited about it. there are a couple cute shops and the pizza place smells good. tonys resturant might be good but we didnt go there because we had 2 kids. we got food at a couple of the overpriced places there but the food wasnt that good and it cost to much for what it was. there really wasnt anything special about it and nothing for the kids to do. i guess if you want to fish thats the place to go but other then that skip it. the sand on the beach will rip your feet up in a matter of a few steps. dont go to the beach unless you have some sort of foot protection against any sand at all, i dont mean shoes i mean full foot gear like a scuba suit.

Great place to chill and hang out !!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/20/05
Great place to ride your bike and just hang out. Recomend eating the oysters, crabs, and lobsters at the fish store near the pier. You can also do some fishing off the pier.

Great pier experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/13/05
Wonderful Pier. Fun for the whole family, friends, couples, etc. A rather large pier offers plenty to do from morning till' sun down. There are great restaurants, souvenier/gift shops, fishing, guided boat sight seeing tours, whale watching, a large Arcade, fishmarket, it's own public sandy beach, and offers plenty to do for a full day of fun. Some of the shops are vacant compared to years ago in the pier's hayday, and this pier is not quite the size of Pacific Park and doesn't have the attractions that the Santa Monica pier has to offer, yet the Redondo Beach Pier is much more hassle free when it comes to parking and is much less crowded at any given time than it's Santa Monica bretheren, and just as historic, offering no shortage of a great experience and joy to visitors since the early 1900s. Free admission, but parking is not free, you can either park at the parking meters along the stretch of sandy beach next to the Pier, or at the Pier's 2 story parking structure, and some of the shops/restaurants will happily validate. The Redondo Beach Pier is perfectly nestled between the two other great beach towns of Hermosa and Manhattan Beach, which offers even more shopping, dining, bars, and clubs in the afternoon and after hours.

redondo beach
By gmoney$, 7/16/04
It has a little bit of everything. Good restaurants, sight seeing tours, rental shops for bike riding and kyaking, guided sea tours, etc. Not to bad for a one day event near los angeles.
