Bea's Bakery

Description

Considered the best all-around old-fashioned bakery in the Valley, this is a shop that is often worth the wait. Ask for a sample and the staff is liable to give you an entire piece of cake. The proprietors have a "Jewish grandmother" attitude toward their customers. Enjoy the "strudel to die for" and the "scrumptious rugelach" and you will think you've gone to dessert heaven. Freshly baked breads and holiday items are a delight at Bea's, and you'll want to tell all your friends all about it. No credit cards are accepted.

Russian Tea Cakes To Die For
By Stephanie, 10/6/10
I remember visiting Bea's with my grandparents when I was a child, and they moved to L.A. from Michigan in the late 1970's. I loved the Russian Tea cakes, cookies, and cup cakes. Now, I live in Michigan, and I recently called and asked about ordering Russian Tea Cakes, and was disappointed that they don't have a functioning web site and they require that I send a check to order the Tea Cakes and have them sent to Michigan. Some things ought not to change, like their wonderful food, and other things ought to change, like having a web site and at least accepting credit cards to order goods when a customer lives out of state.

bubby, you want the best?? treats to die for!
By jack, 8/16/06
this place is a landmark, i used to go there in the late 1970's when i lived in Reseda, it has not changed a bit, THANK GOD! the baked goods here are fresh, if you have good timing you can get stuff in the morning still warm! the delcos ( rugelah) are out of this world, the breads are real, fresh, and sliced or not, cookies up the wazzoo, but let me tell you a couple of the secrets about this place, #1 the paris creme cake, you just have to try it, you will die happy, # the chocolate chip danish, especially if you get there early on a saturday to get and still warm, # babka, any flavour, slice it, toast it, butter it, go to heaven. there you are, this is still family owned and it shows in the quality, and the service, yes it can be crowded, but when you eat this stuff you will know why! ENJOY!!

Keep going back for the cookies
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/31/04
They have great cookies and bread. Highly recommend! It does get pretty crowded, but fortunately the deli nextdoor has pretty good coffee.
