'Completely indescribable' is the only way to describe the English toffee at Littlejohns. Since it has been a resident of the Farmers Market for the better part of 60 years, one can assume that this is a local treasure. Homemade peanut brittle, mints, chocolate-covered marshmallows and honeycomb are just a few of the many reasons for this shop's longevity. Get a pound or two and pull up a chair. You'll be glad you did.
I stumbled on Little John's about 18 years ago and have been a regular customer ever since. I give a pound of toffee to each of my customers every year at Christmas and they all look forward to it. Be careful because once you try, you will be hooked forever!
Nothing to dislike. I bought a pound of toffee and as I was walking away tasted it. I immediately turned around and bought more. I am a sweetaholic and let me tell you this was the best toffee ever. And priced good (I felt). And believe me I have had alot of good toffee, but again this is the best. I look forward to going there this spring to buy several pounds.
I always let my coworkers know that I'm going and everybody says they don't want anything but when I show up at work on Monday and start handing out the caramel covered marshmallows the room fills with smiles. On my last trip I picked up some sugar free dark chocolate almond bark. It was absolutely excellent and much appreciated by my dad, a diabetic. Worth the trip!
I lived in L.A. most of my life, and now live in Hawaii. Whenever ANYONE comes to visit, I beg them to go to Farmer's Market to pick me up a pound of this delicacy. It puts Almond Roca to shame. Crunchy, nutty, buttery, chocolatey... all in one delicious treat!
