If you hear the patrons speaking with a British accent, they are probably not putting on airs. The transplanted Brits in the area have made this a home away from home. This is your typical pub like back in Britain with fish and chips, warm beer and darts. For those Yanks who prefer a cold one, they are available as well. The attached restaurant serves up traditional fare. What could be better than British ambiance combined with Southern Californian weather?

4 reviews for Ye Olde King's Head
One of the few places I regularly go back to
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/14/07
The atmosphere is great and the food is fantastic (I'm hooked on the fish and chips although everything else I've tried has been excellent as well). I especially can't say enough good things about the desserts, namely the bread pudding. It's a consistently good experience each time. You won't be disappointed.

great food
By Grace, 04/03/07
King's Head is most noted (I believe) for its fish & chips - the best I've ever tasted. And the English deserts (bread pudding & other stuff) are great. If you like this type of food, you're in for a real treat. Loved it.

DO'NT BOTHER!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/25/07
DREADFUL!!! Lousy service, stale food, uncouth swearing staff and everything is overpriced - just like England! Drinks are bottom of the barrel and the "shandy" is on tap!!!

West Virginia girl loves Irish/English pub!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/02/05
I went to L.A. for an Otolaryngology Conference in Sept. 2005. We went to this pub for a few drinks while we waited for a table at a steakhouse across the street. The bartenders were very friendly and a lot of the patrons were English. I love their accent!! This pub is a lot of fun and very casual. The beer isn't overpriced like everywhere else we had been on our trip. They have a dee jay in the evenings and it gets pretty crowded. This pub is only 1/2 a block from the beach and the atmosphere is great! If I ever have the chance to go back to Santa Monica, I will definitely go back to this pub!!!
