What was once the Roxbury, the club that burned so bright it died out, has become Miyagi's. This is a one-of-a-kind joint to get great sushi and drinks. All three levels offer music. It's nice to wander around and enjoy the different vibe on each floor. The crowd is hip and eclectic and the feel is something akin to a sushi ski lodge. To truly understand, you'll have to visit it for yourself.

Worst sushi ever!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/10/06
It's not the cooks fault, but I have never seen sooo much rice in a sushi roll!!! Service was terrible, I saw the waiter twice during dinner, I had my sushi rolls before my drinks, and at the end he charge me the wrong check, putting a huge hold in my atm account for like 5 days. I called to complaint and they never called me back. Of course I didn't tip the guy, so my advice is sit at the bar, and tip the cooks.

Miyagi's is the place to be.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/24/06
It was the most enjoyable thing to experience a good night on acid for the first time. Four of us friends were walking all over Hollywood until we came across a nice restaurant on top of a little hill called Miyagi's. Boy were we happy to go inside. The service was out of this world nice. I ordered some salmon and eel sushi which was quite enjoyable. Then we smoked weed upstairs in the patio where a very beautiful waitress by the name of Maureen (drop dead gorgeous) came to turn on the heater for our warmth. She then chatted with me for a while and I was in love with her for the 2 hours we were there. I thank her wholeheartedly for being so super friendly with me while I was tripping on acid for the first time. My friend who brought his guitar there was offered a job but he couldn't accept it since he was from Atlanta. Upstairs, there is a rocker type bartender who makes the best martini and scubi snack or any alcohol which will blow your mind. The decor was reddish and very romantic and illusional. I will definitely go there again. This time, I will take my wife.

Rats!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/12/05
The rats do not add to the decor. Management is rude and they push you out like cattle come 2 o clock. Terrible club. I will not be returning.

Never go back to this PLACE!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/03/05
I went to Miyagi's last night with a group of friends. This was our first time there, and I heard a lot of good things about the place. Needless to say, when we finished the night, I have to conclude that this was the worse Sushi place I have ever visited. The atmosphere of the restaurant is not at all Japanese; it was too dark, old, smelly, and loud. Granted, I know that Miyagi's is known for its reputation of being hip and trendy, but still, it didn't suit my needs. Moreover, the food was not all that tasty as far as sushi goes. And beware when a majority of the folks behind the sushi bar, preparing and making the sushi, aren't Japanese. I'm sorry, when I go to a Japanese, Chinese, Mexican, or fill in the cultural cuisine label, I want to see elements of that culture in the kitchen. And the server we had, a lady named Carrie, was just a complete mistake. She was just not attentive to our group, and catered more to more male-oriented groups in the restaurant--gender bias. To top it off, she had a hard time dividing the bill up, and ended up charging my card twice. Please do yourselves a favor and do not go to this horrible excuse of a sushi place. Read the other feedbacks, and you'll see that what I'm saying aligns with the prevailing thought.

Biased to whites........
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/15/05
......for the most part. Whether racially motivated or otherwise, Miyagi's definitely discriminates. They site dress code violations to deny entry to "unsatisfactory" patrons. Give "Poor" rating instead of "Awful" since it hasn't always been that way.....am I wrong about this? I'm white myself btw......

I'll pass next time!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/07/05
I went there with a girlfriend on a Saturday night, and it was very lame. There were tables set up on the dance floor. Finally they decided to move the tables and people were not dancing the crowd was dead and it was a huge disappointment.

miyagi's is no longer fun
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/02/05
the place is dying, it is not as live as it was a year ago. the place is too big and everyone is disconnected. we were the only party on the second floor and felt very isolated. not only do they have a huge overhead, overpriced food, and so-so service, management is not very accomodating to their customers. there are better values and hippier places in hollywood to go eat sushi.

Good Sushi
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/24/05
The sushi was excellent, didn't try the main meals but they looked good at the table next to us. The staff are extremely helpful in telling you what kind of thing to order from what you like. I will definitely go back!!
