Located at Century City Shopping Center, this is a great place to take a date after catching a flick at the multiplex. If peace and quiet is what you are seeking, you should try elsewhere since everyone from teenagers to their grandparents has discovered it. With dark orange lighting and a bar big enough to spread out huge portions of ribs and BBQ chicken along with spinach and artichoke dip, this place is constantly busy. If you stick it out until your food arrives, though, it won't take you long to realize that it was worth the wait.
We are a family of seven. I have been taking my family to Houstons in Century City for years, but within the last year I have had a problem each time I have gone. When we walk in the host people look at us like "Why are they here". They make excuses about not being able to seat us at one table. They always try to split us up. They say they can't place a highchair at the end of the table because it blocks the isle way in case of a fire. These aren't wooden highchairs, but the type that clings to the table, so they stick out about a foot and a half into a twelve foot wide isle. It is an excuse. They don't care about big families.
I have never been disappointed with Houston's. Their steaks, prime rib, and caesar salads with anchovies are to die for. So are the desserts. I don't eat sushi, but I hear it is wonderful.
The wait staff is helpful and the ambiance is dark and cozy. It is a bit pricey ($130 for two steaks and two glasses of wine), but I still try to go at least once a month! Oh, I forgot to mention their cheesy garlic toast! I love this place!
The Houstons, Bandera, Gulfstream chain serve some of the best food in Los Angeles. Houstons and Bandera are amazing for steak and etc. and Gulfstream serves great seafood. The only problem is that only Gulfstream takes reservations!
I love Houston's in comparison to Flemings accross the street...Lawyrs' and even Mortons'. They are all more expensive and I can't figure out why..I think you pay for the name of those other place...The staks are great...I never order Tuna or any other girlie stuff on the menu...My wife and I both do the steaks and we share the cobler...I love the brwon sugar and walnuts!
