Cat & Custard Cup (The)
This is an English Tudor-style restaurant owned by the Salisbury family. The decor is Old World and very British. You feel like you just stepped into a beautiful book. The clientele is sophisticated and know their food. It is also a kid-friendly place and music is featured on weekends. The restaurant offers English and American favorites like filet mignon, Chateaubriand, various seafood entrees, prime rib, Yorkshire pudding and much more. Entrees cost between $16.95 and $29.95. There is an extensive wine list with bottles in every price range, as well as a full bar.
Recently 12-2006 I was looking for some place special to take my wife for a celebration (her cancer is gone). I asked a few friends and they said you have to go to The Cat & Custard Cup. OK I said why not. I just have to say it was more then I had expected, honest. I am a person who when service is bad I will let management and corporate know about it. Well, The Cat & Custard Cup was simply fantastic. We got there a couple minutes before our reservation time and were seated almost immediately. The table, the ambiance was just great. Our waitress was great, the food was amazing! I actually wrote a letter to the owner who also happens to be the chef and told him how impressed I was with everything and he wrote back a really nice letter. Needless to say our second wedding anniversary is January 5th 2007 and can you guess where my reservation is going to be at? R.N., Brea, CA
Who wouldn't known that such a gem is on Whittier Blvd in La Habra?
My husband and I came here for our anniversary. We loved the dark woods and lighting. The fireplace created a romantic setting. Also, they have live piano in the bar, and this was very enjoyable.
Our server was great. Due to our special occasion, she provided a complementary goat cheese starter, which was absolutely fabulous. I highly recommend this.
Our experience was wonderful, start to finish. I had the filet mignon, which I have ordered a various fine dining restaurants. It was subperb-as good or better than some I've had in well-known restaturants.
