Jose's Court Room
The atmosphere at this popular restaurant and bar is best characterized as colorful. The bright yellow sign, along with a front door featuring yellow, blue and green prints, welcome guests into the restaurant. Once inside, guests will notice colorful tabletops as well as mural-covered walls. The small, busy restaurant offers juke box music and a big bar. Carne asada tops the menu, including combinations of tacos, tortas and burritos. The place also offers marinated steak with a cheese enchilada and guacamole. Open Monday to Friday from 11 a.m.
From the street, Jose Court Room doesn't look like much. Most tourist stop to check the menu, look inside and keep on walking. That's unfortunate because they miss a great local watering hole. The colorful atmosphere, friendly staff make this one of the best places to meet friends and enjoy great food and casual dinning. This is beach casual at it's best. We go on Friday night for the "carnitas" special. But be warned, beach casual doesn't translate into "cheap". Dinners are in the $15.00 to $20.00 range. The daily specials are normally under $10.00. Check out the daily lunch speicals too. Well worth it.
Great atmosphere for a friendly gathering. However, the inside is filthy! The old decorations look like they have not been clean in years. Walls and cielings were dirty.Hate to know what the kitchen looked like. Food was just OK.
