You will find it hard to believe that this beautiful setting is classified as a city park. Here you can enjoy a tangled jogging trail that overlooks the river and skyline, or take in a sunset over the river at the edge of a charming old stone quarry. Park facilities include a pavilion and picnic tables, as well as plenty of parking. This is a choice location for a relaxing afternoon away from the city.
I've trolled around Emerald Park for a decade or so now. Its a great spot to go to walk, run, bike, or enjoy a brief smoke. There are several spur trails off the main path at the top of Emerald. Follow it around and down and you can make a loop around Emerald through Burns Park as a part of the soon to be famous Arkansas River Trail. The more adventurous could launch from there to manage the Big Dam Bridge.
Upon my first visit to Little Rock, Arkansas, my friend took me to visit Emerald Park. It is a beautiful oasis with a wonderful view. You'd never guess it to be in the middle of the city. Seven months later, I made Little Rock my home!!
