Juanita's Mexican Cafe & Bar
A well-established Mexican restaurant located in a revitalized section of downtown, Juanita's is known locally for its generous portions of Jamaican Jerk Chicken, Spinach Enchiladas and the best fajitas in the city. Juanita's also features live music nightly, including the longest running blues jam in the nation each Tuesday night. Drop in for reggae on Sunday nights, or visit any other evening for everything from Rhythm and Blues to alternative music. Juanita's is a good, hip choice for fun during lunch, dinner or after hours
Juanitas is one of our favorite places to eat. The selection of Mexican food is very good; it's nice to have so many chicken, spinach, and shrimp entrees to choose from as well as main dishes that aren't loaded with cheese. The chicken fajitas are terrific as is the Jamaican Jerk Chicken. We really enjoy the white cheese dip and the salsa, too. The noise level is loud and we find it hard to chat with friends (our one gripe) but the servers are very friendly and do a good job. We'd recommend Juanitas to anyone!
The first time i went to the bar it was fun because i liked the band and I wsa with people who like and have seen the band before, but the other two times i have gone i havent been impressed near as much. The bands were new and not that great. I guess the first time I just caught em' on a good night. BUT as far as the resturant goes the waiter we had was not very happen to serve us because were in our early 20's and the cheese dip I wouldn't suggest getting it (not so great) and the portions can be pretty small.
Everything was great including the entertainment. A young man from Texas was playing and he was great. Are you planning on having him back, if so, when? There was a group of us that really enjoyed him and will be back to eat but to also hear him if you should be having him back soon. His name was Austin Allsup.
Thanks for a great evening!
