Now A Believer
By Phil Jackson, 8/15/12
I was skeptical of the presence of "vortexes" at first but after a couple of days hiking at or around these areas, my skepticism evaporated and felt feelings that I remembered from many years ago in my youth. The energy and enthusiasm for life returned unexpectely. Its all very strange but there is something going on other than just having a nice vacation. Did I mention it was nearly 100 degrees each day we were there but I still wanted to get out to hike?

YIKES
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/20/11
I got very sick after climbing Bell Rock. It has been a week and I still am feeling dizzy and nauseous. The place is beautiful but I surely will not be going back.

Energy Vortexes, like the sweat lodge
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/26/10
Sedona is absolutely beautiful, as are the areas surrounding the "vortexes". However, we felt this was mostly a deal to attract visitors and their money. At one of the vortexes we saw a fellow who had found a healing rock in the desert. He was charging (and people were paying) $20.00 to stand on the rock for five minutes. View and enjoy the area, if you believe in vortexes, great and continue to do so. But if you are expecting to see or feel something magical, most will be disappointed.

Spiritual Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/21/10
Sedona is definitely a spiritual experience from the Holy Cross Cathedral at Bell Rock to Cathedral Rock. We have been to Sedona 5 times now; each visit with a more spiritual experience. We are both Christians and believe in GOD; this makes our experience more enhanced that GOD could have created such a beautiful country. We have walked Oak Creek at Crescent Moon Park and each time the hair on our arms stand up. If you stand and look into the water of Oak Creek and take your photo, you will note a aura around you in the picture. We have felt the vortex at Cathedral Rock, Bell Rock and the Airport and know the energy from the earth can definitely be felt. I wanted to dispell some early negative reports, that this land is defintely GODS gift to Christians to enjoy his work!

Vortices???
By ken, 5/23/10
I've lived in sedona for the last 20 years and have yet to encounter a vortex other than when I flush the toilet. The reason that no one has been able to quantify a vortex is that they only exist in one'd own mind. If you are in need of a supernatural force to help you through life .. try the Lord.

Looking Forward to visit #3
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/19/07
Sedona is a beautiful, powerful place, that I can't seem to get enough of. My husband and I have been there twice, and are returning for a third trip this year. The vortex experience is personal. Both my husband and I felt a positive, calming, and renewing energy. The chapel is beautiful. We rented a motorcycle, and rode to Jerome. It was a fun day trip. We visited the Grand Canyon twice, and are planning a trip to Havasu Falls this year. The white buffalo are just past Flagstaff on route to the Grand Canyon, and are yet another spiritual experience. I'm not sure what the message is I'm supposed to get here. I will continue to return until I figure it out. The hiking is great. Each visit is more enjoyable than the next.

Gorgeous but Awful!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/28/07
All 5 family members drove down from Flagstaff, I couldn't believe how beautiful the scenery was. I'm a painter and really appreciated the colors and depth of rock height and design. However, when I got out of the car at the Church I felt so dizzy and sick, like I was not in my body. I could only think that I needed to go to a hospital. My brother quickly put me in the car as the others climbed to the church. We went into town and walked a little and had lunch. I still felt ill like I was in a blender. I did not know at the time about a Vortex. I really loved the view but I'm terrified to ever return to this place because I felt so horrible. I've been to Peru, and I know it wasn't altitude sickness. Sedona is too strange for me.

we can't wait to move there
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/13/07
I loved the energy of this place. We had a difficult time trying to figure out a way to get to the top safely. We were a little nervous about the trip back down. However, once we started back down, we discovered a much better descent then the route we had taken to go up. Perhaps better markings for safer routes? Regardless, the trek was well worth the effort. The view was magnificent. The energy of this area is hard to describe. I felt a peace in being there. I wanted to return before I had even left. We did return to Bell Rock before our trip to Sedona ended. We sat in an area known for having vortexes. I meditated for awhile. The power of this location is evident in the fact that I had lost a ring on the way to the vortex and in the pending darkness/dusk, my husband was actually able to find it. We will definitely return to Bell Rock and plan to move to Sedona. I am even drawn to take courses at a school with a view of Bell Rock. Overall, a great experience, one everyone should partake in while in Sedona.

pure tranquility
By Kayla, 4/9/07
I am from Missouri and we have some beautiful places here, but I have never experienced a place that is so peaceful and awesome. The sunsets and sunrises brought tears to my eyes, while being overwhelmed with a strong sense of warmth and well-being.
