Arizona River Runners, Phoenix

I took the 8 day motorized trip and loved it. 280 miles of beautiful canyon with an AWESOME set of guides is just too good to do only once. The guides really bent over backwards to help everybody. If someone wanted to try something, and it was reasonably safe, they would help them try it. The food was excellent, all fresh prepared and cooked. Everything from pancakes, breakfast burritos, chicken breast, salad, steaks, lasagna, pork chops, etc... It was like eating at a nice restaurant at every meal. They even brought vegetarian supplies for those that need them. Want something a little different to eat? Just ask, chances are pretty good they will be able to accommodate if they have the supplies needed. Toilet facilities were really as awesome as they could possibly be. Nobody (including the ladies on the trip) had any problem using the toilet. ARR really has a fantastic system there. All the guides were extremely knowledgeable. If there was something they didn't know right off hand, they checked the library on the raft! If you ever have Julie for a guide, make sure to have her tell the whale joke. Its especially funny towards the end of the trip for some reason. Only think I disliked about the trip is the guides wouldn't turn around and go back upstream to run a few of the more exciting rapids again. But I guess that's what next time is for! I made several new friends that I would probably never have met otherwise. Something about spending time on a river together completely out of contact with anything above the rim will make everyone friendly.

We took the 6 night 7 day motorized trip and helicoptered out at Whitmore Wash. This is the best vacation we have ever had. ARR has great guides. We body surfed the Little Colorado River, saw Red Rock Cavern, hiked to Anistazi ruins, jumped out of a waterfall cave, hiked part of the trail to Havasu Falls,. (the young people made it all the way to Havasu) I would take this trip again tomorrow if we could. ARR provided everything except out personal things. The food was great, I actually put on a few pounds!!!! We had people from 11 yrs old to 70 yrs old on our trip, so don't let age stop you from going, there's something for everyone. There really is no way to describe acurately how this trip will make you feel. It is a life changing experience. I highly reccomend ARR as the company to raft with, thay are flat out wonderful. I needed to change my trip date because my son in service was being sent to Iraq and I wanted to be home when he cam home before he left. ARR simply bent over backwards to get us into another group when I told them I needed to change dates. They even said to tell my son "Thank You" for serving in the military.

Now this is a blast, grab a case of beer and float down the river.I would suggest the long run which takes all day. the short run is good too.
