Phenominal
By Tisha, 04/04/08
You can truly appreciate the beauty that God has put before us. It is a place of security and solitude. If you go to Phoenix and you dont go to South Mountain.. you are missing out on one of God's beautiful tapestries.

I miss this place!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/03/08
I grew up in Phoenix, living there until my mid-thirties, and can remember the many times I drove with family and friends up to the top. The view of the Valley at night is spectacular and not to be missed. Enjoy!

The ride up is so much fun
By Joy W, 01/25/08
My lovely brother who died this last November/07, used to take me up this incredible mountain. We would ride in his Jeep Wrangler, and go up the twist and turns of the mountain. Higher and higher, and then when you get to the top, the view is so wonderful. And not only that there is a cool old fort up there, that people sit in, and look out at the gorgeous view. This place is so special that I am taking some of my brothers ashes and releasing them up there.

BEAUTIFUL!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/27/07
I have been there two times. First time was my first trip to Arizona. The second time I went to Arizona, South Mountain was a "MUST SEE AGAIN" place. I love it there.

By Stacie, 03/07/07
We drove to the top and there wasn't a bad view in the entire drive. It is stunning at the top. I loved it and I can't wait to go again, next time I want to hike up instead of drive!

Wish I could go back
By Roibeard, 12/15/06
About 40 years ago I took my troop of Boyscouts on a hike through this park. I can still remember this little sojourn. In my mind it IS the biggest city park in the world. We went in from the little town of Guadaloupe which I think is on the eastern side and hiked about ten miles turned north and came out I think on Central avenue. I seem to remember there was a parking lot there. (Had to be, the bus was there to bring us back to Williams AFB) When someone uses the expression "It was a walk in the park" I can tell they've never been the South Mountain Park The scouts learned how a couple of lessons, the value of good clean water and how to remove cactus needles from a persons being.

Excellent
By Ang, 12/05/06
South Mountain Parks provides a beautiful view of the valley for absolutely no cost. The drive up to the park is breathtaking, also. It gives you an opportunity to see the mountains up close without having to go on a long drive. Highly recommended!
