Jerome, a historical township is definitely worth a visit. Originally a mining town for about 70 years, this little community survives on the sliding-edge of a hillside. Through the years, many buildings have taken the fall including, at one point, the town jail. Sporting gorgeous views and lovely bed & breakfasts, the quaint storefronts and small town ambiance attract multitudes of artists, writers and tourists. Shops and galleries flourish here, including Nature's Landscapes. If you have time, visit the Mining Museum. Credit cards and hours will vary by merchant.

Well what a neat and interesting town on the edge of nowhere. It was a hoot and it was enjoyed for too short of time. The unexpected drive and adventure into the rim of Jerome. Darn wish we could have stayed longer. Rest assured we will return and it will not be by accident and certainly for a longer visit.

Above the rest.

Jerome is a beautiful place, perfect to take those who are new to the mountains. The mine town with a charming atmosphere. Best place to eat is the Haunted Hamburger. The view from the patio is amazing and the food is wonderful. The shops are a nice walk away from the restaurant.

Up and away from it all
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/18/07
No chain restaurants, inns, or Starbucks here! For those that want the feel of an old west mining town, homey food, and like to do some original shopping, Jerome AZ is the place. There is something for everyone; original handmade pottery that you can watch being created, and just down the street is a great bar that motorcyclists tend to congregate at for a nice cold drink on a hot day. Things not to miss are the mining museum, and the traveling jail (and its story). The view alone is worth the drive up the mountain.

Always a unique experience
By WILLIAM P, 11/09/06
We visit the area every year and Jerome is always #1 on our list. A visit to Nellie Bly's and the vast array of kaleidoscopes is a must. Down the street is the miner's museum and no visit is complete without lunch at the "Asylum" ...a unique spot up at the Jerome Grand hotel...the view is AWESOME !!!! Be prepared to spend the afternoon, it is all well worth your time.

A Native
By worley b, 08/08/06
I was born and raised in Prescott Az. which is right down the hill from Jerome and everytime we have out of state visitors we show them this wonderfully strange town. It's quirky enough to grab your attention and even after my 40 something yrs. I can still find something different around the corner. If you're headed to Az. also go to Sedona. If you can afford the Pink Jeep Tours take advantage of them, they make the experience all the more awesome.

Quaint little town!!
By FiveO, 12/27/05
We spent an afternoon in the small mining town of Jerome. Lots of small shops & many years of history to learn about. One tavern dates back to the 1800s, and don't forget to go to the 'Haunted Hamburger' for a hamburger and margarita!!!

Very unique place
By Kris, 11/17/05
Jerome is definitely a place worth experiencing. It is a creepy little mining town that sits upon a hill. Very interesting people live there. They have great little restaurants and shops full of very cool stuff. Lots of local artisans. I would definitely recommend Jerome for a very different experience.
