Lake Pleasant Regional Park
One of Arizona's best water recreation sites just a few miles northwest of Phoenix. Desert terrain is rocky and shade is limited, so bring sturdy shoes and plenty of sunscreen. Popular activities include swimming, jet skiing, boating and fishing. You can also hire vehicles for a small fee. Bring cash or a check. No credit cards are accepted. Boat lovers be sure to check out the nearby Pleasant Harbor Marina , which offers full amenities for boaters.
Located on the northern end of Peoria and about 45 minutes from downtown Phoenix, Lake Pleasant covers 10,000 acres. It is Arizona's second largest lake and offers a wide variety of recreational activities ranging from camping, boating, sailing, water and jet skiing, as well as fishing. Lake Pleasant offers many fun activities for the entire family and can easily be made into a day trip. The weather is great and unique scenery of the Southwestern desert is unbeatable.
i loved this place there was lots to do and lots of friendly people the best thing to do is camp there me and my frineds go there for like a day or maybe a week and yes we are just teenager but its nice to know your kids are going somewhere safe there is drinking going on there but not many of teens get involved. its nice to camp right by the water and make a rock pit for fire and cook hot dogs on your tent stakes ha ha. we had loads of fun and you can also rent boats and other water crafts i would reccomend it to anyone. great for families and friends to just get out and spend some time together.
Clean, mellow, nice place. Price is right!
Our family and our dog packed up with the tent, and a cooler full of hot dogs, and smores and had a really great time. The camp grounds were clean, the water was crystal clear... people were helpful and it was just pleasant. There are different camp sites and different areas for swimming. Close to Vegas if you need to stop by on a road trip.
We came on a Monday and found a spot right down on the water to park - our big-rig full-time home fit with no problem (other than a sloping site.) We have the sun rising over the water in the morning. Campsites are clean and open. We have nice neighbors. We heard wild burros last night honking and wheezing - and the sound of them running away as some other campers objected to the noise. The picnic tables have shade covers; the roads are all paved; the sites are gravel. The price ($18) for water & electric was very reasonable. But the water connection at our site is out of reach without a very long hose.
