there are the free days if you don't want to pay!
By Kristen, 11/1/09
I liked that the exhibits were interactive, and the children could do activities or touch the art. I also appreciated that there was a seperate section for children under a certain age that needed more hands on and more supervision. Overall, a wonderful experience to the family!

Not worth the admission price
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/30/07
I brought my family including 4 sons ages 6-12 yesterday, mainly to see the Jim Henson exhibit. The admission price was $7 each which includes a $2 surcharge for the Henson exhibit alone which we enjoyed alot actually, however there was only one other small gallery with some writing exhibits that was definitely not worth the $5 base admission price. There is a children's play area that is geared for smaller children (under 4 I believe) but it didn't cater to my slightly-older kids at all. Perhaps a family with very young children would find the museum worthwhile, but our family was expecting alot more overall and we left feeling really disappointed.

We try to get to every exhibit
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/18/06
This is a great place - very entertaining and informative. The red signs (which mean "don't touch" and the green "please touch") not only help the young ones learn what can and can't be touched in a museaum but still encourage visual interaction. Every few months there is a new exhibit. All of the exhibits have a theme - space travel, dogs, cats, and shapes are a few we remember. All of the items are designed to use one or more of the senses. The interactive displays are so interesting and fun that often I have to drag my children out of there (The day glow/ glow in the dark activities such as the one where the children wore t-shirts with stars and "flew" space ships was one of our favorites). Very much of a learning experience. This is a place where children learn without even knowing it. Its inexpensive and, best of all you'll love it, too. Maybe even more then the children. Give it a shot!

A+++ Experience
By David, 9/1/05
This is the PERFECT place to spend time with a smal child. My daughter is three and we could have spent the entire day here! Half of the museum is an interactive play area divided into several sections-the other half with the exhibits was just as interesting...and not at ALL dull! I would HIGHLY recommend a visit-now that I have been there it will be a place I frequent.
