Papillon Grand Canyon Helicopters, Williams

Staff were very good excellent tour of Grand Canyon and narration by our pilot was informative. Passenger safety is paramount with this company having had first hand experience will definatly use again on next trip.

We went to the helicopter ride on 8/20/2009. Overall the trip was good. We had a nice pilot who gave us a nice narration about the hoover dam, lake mead, GC observation platform etc. Only think we did not like is the time window they provided at the canyon. They have provided a nice picnic meal upon landing, but did not provide enough time to have it. I would say that is the only negative in the trip. They should increase the time so the trip would become more attractive.

If you have children DO NOT use Papillon. They treated my daughter horribly. They do not value customers. There are so many other good helicopter tours to take. I wish I had read the other reviews.

Today my wife and two sons (6 and 9) enjoyed a day we will never forget. Obviously the views were incredible, but just as important, so were the the folks at Papillon. It really felt like we were getting the "royal treatment". The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable and I would strongly recommend joining them for one of their helicopter tours. Here is my simple advice to make the day special. Wear a good pair of shoes (don't want unstable footing when standing next to a 4000 foot drop), bring some water to drink (we each had a 700ml bottle) as it can get pretty hot down in the canyon and take LOTS of pictures. My wife took well over 100 (so bring extra batteries too:)!! Hope this helps you make your decision.

Think we had the oldest helicopter, I travelled backwards so didn't get the full effect, the seatbelt & headphones were tight & painful, distracting me from the wonderful views. The windows were small & scratched. We did the Imperial flight costing $210 organised through our tour group, Thomas Cook. What should have been the highlight of the holiday was ruined. Unless you can guarantee facing forward don't do it. Certainly not worth the same price as the person who gets the seat next to the pilot.

The place is being run by a bunch of young kids that don't know what's going on. They were very disorganized and were putting people just coming into the building on flights in front of us that had been there waiting for a long time. They couldn't keep up with all the phone calls and people coming in so they were frantically trying to take care of everyone. When anyone complained, they put them in a van and took them to Grand Canyon Helis to get rid of them. The pilot on the helicopter was very unfriendly too. He didn't say a word the whole flight. I heard the taped music and the Canyon narration while in flight in my headphones, but all my wife heard was the helicopter pilot talking to the control tower the whole time. I told her I had music and narration over the canyon... she didn't hear any of it. I bought a DVD of the Canyon from them. It's 90% advertisement for Papillon and 10% what I wanted to see. Most of the video has a Papillon helicopter right in the middle of the picture. I've seen thousands of helicopters but never have seen the Grand Canyon. I bought the video to see the Grand Canyon, not Papillon's helicopter. I've written to them numerous times and asked for a refund of the DVD, but they won't even so much as answer me. VERY POORLY RUN COMPANY!!! STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!
