If you are planning your first-ever visit to the Grand Canyon, Angel Point is a fabulous place to catch your first real glimpse of its grandeur. Just drive to the Grand Canyon Lodge at the North Rim. From the parking lot, you are just steps away from the breathtaking views at Angel Point. From this lofty ledge, travelers can easily see countless tributary canyons winding their way into the heart of the gorge.
I liked and can't remember the name of the natural bridge under the trail to Bright Angel Point. Any help?
Bright Angel Point is close to the dining hall at Ahwahnee and a pleasant walk. Great view of the canyon.
Donna N. mistakenly put her review of the South Rim under Bright Angel Point. This is at The North Rim, which isn't nearly as hot as its southern neighbor.
Another giveaway is that, unlike the South Rim, there are no "hotels" at the North Rim. Only a lodge. One that is very remote, and harder to get to.
Fewer crowds, too, as a result.
Yahoo! should take Donna's mistaken review and put it where it belongs--under the South Rim. The North Rim is delightful any time of the summer--especially in the cool evenings.
We took our boys to Grand Canyon in July. It was too hot, and none of the hotels inside of Grand Canyon have a/c. Although the sights were breath taking. We each stood in awe at Gods Creation. All of our boys said they will bring their family someday. How wonderful that they think that way.
