Sit back, relax and soar over the wondrous Grand Canyon in a twin-engine Vistliner plane with panoramic windows and air-conditioned comfort. Your 50-minute cruise over the Canyon is fully narrated in your choice of English, Spanish, German, French, Japanese or Italian. For your ultimate safety, two pilots are on each 19-passenger flight. With a history dating back to 1926, it is no wonder that this is one of the area's most popular air tours.
We were taken to their airport by our tour bus. The fare is a little pricey but we thought this would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. There was some waiting at the terminal, but it seemed clean. Once we are aboard, takeoff came quickly. Seats were a little small, but not uncomfortable for average size people. As we came over the rim of the canyon, Chariots of Fire blasted in our headphones! Awesome. We would have paid twice as much for this trip. There are some folks who can always find something to complain about. Especially if they weigh 300+ pounds and the seats are too small for them.
I cannot stress this to you enough, please DO NOT use this company! Our day started by being yelled at by our shuttle driver for being in the wrong location when we were exactly where we were told to be. We arrive in Boulder City and are informed our flight time has been delayed one hour with no explanation as to why this has occured. We finally take off and our flight is 20-30 minutes and a very bumpy ride. We arrive to the west rim of the Canyon and take our photos and then have to wait in a line that was probably 200 people long to catch a bus to the next location. It was 120 degrees at the Canyon on this day and our wait was 45 minuts in the blazing hot sun. We finally board a bus and are taken to the next point where we are told to eat lunch. The food, to put it mildly, was disgusting. We then have to wait another 45 minutes in the heat to get the bus back to our terminal to catch our flight back to Boulder City. We were told to be back by 4:15pm and arrived at 4pm to be safe. We had to sit in the dirty floor of the building because there were so many people waiting they had no chairs. We waited and waited and received no information about our flight. I finally tracked down one employee who came out from their closed office doors for a moment to ask what was going on. She replied it was the wind (even though all the other planes and helicopters were taking off without a problem) and that they didn't know how we would get back. We might have to take a bus, but they had none available. We had absolutely no cell service and were stranded at this place and at their mercy. We waited over two hours to finally leave and all the other employess had left us at this place with no one there but a security guard and a man that was trying to clean. Everyone else had left on flights!! When we got back to Boulder CIty I asked to speak to the manager and was told there was no one available. I said that their response was not acceptable after a 7 hour trip had taken us almost 12 and I needed to speak to someone now. They finally got Andrea, a manager, on the phone who was rude and said there was nothing they could do and we would have to contact corporate. The two women behind the counter were beyond rude and began threatening us because we complained! First, their security guards were called and then they actually called out the Boulder City police. This was completely unnecessary as we did nothing but state our compaint. The girl behind the counter then said, "You can leave on the bus or in the back of a cop car!" The police came out and didn't bother to listen to our version of the story. I have since called the police department, spoken with their Sgt. and was issued an apology and told by the police we needed to pursue this until we received a full refund. He also said he was going to report the company's actions to the city's Community Director. Once the police left, we were told it would be 45 minutes to get a bus back to Las Vegas. The bus finally arrived, took us to another hotel where we had to board another bus to finally take us back to our resort. Our day began at 9:30am and did not end with them until about 8:30pm. We of course are pursuing a full refund, but do not want anyone else to have to go through what we did. It completely ruined a full day of our vacation due to their incompetence. I have never been treated so poorly in my life. Please head this warning.,
The airplane/land tour was awesome. They picked us from the hotel in las vegas on-time. The headsets with narration in the airplane was very nice. They forgot to provide us in the bus tour with the vegetarian meals that we requested during booking(otherwise would have given them 5 stars) But once our driver contacted the manager they gave vegetarian lunch boxes once we reached the airport in grand canyon . They also gave us 10$ per person to compenstae for this lapse. So 5 stars to their manager/customer service. Overall it is a must-see trip...the grandeur of the canyon can really be felt from airplane views!
First of all, they don't cancel flights until the last possible minute so that the tourists might have every opportunity to go. The part of the Grand Canyon that you saw is most definately in fact is National Park airspace. You can't fly over that in your own personal plane. No one likes to fly when it is bumpy, but the majority of the people that do fly the tours enjoy it very much. You are just a minority. Perhaps you are not happy with anything in life?
We took the "Canyon River Adventure". Arriving at the airport at sunrise, we were a little late getting in the air. But after that, it was a great day. Very nice people every step of the way. The plane ride portion was from Grand Canyon airport to Page Arizona. We had great views of the Grand Canyon, Glen Canyon and Colorado river all the way to Lake Powell. I've been on a lot of small airplanes, and this was the best - smooth takeoff, flight and landing. At Page, after a light breakfast, they sent us on a trip by jeep to the Upper Antelope Slot Canyon - beautiful! The jeep ride was rather rough, but that's the road's fault. Then we traveled by bus to the base of the Glen Canyon Dam, and boarded rafts to float down the Colorado river. Lunch was served on the bank of the river. We saw fish, ducks, herons, hawks, ravens, and lots of canyon walls . We got off the rafts at Lee's Ferry, and they put us back on a very nice tour bus for the long drive back to where we started, with a stop at the Cameron Trading Post on the way. Kudos to the staff, pilots, drivers and guides - they all did a wonderful job of making the trip pleasant and fun.
First of all they picked us up at our hotel in vegas then drove us an hour away only to tell us then that our deluxe tour was cancelled due to wind. By then it was too late to get a bus ride to go to south rim. They knew before picking us up that it was cancelled, but then offer you a plane trip over the canyon. So, in desperation we said yes. The trip never ventured into Grand Canyon national park air space!!! We never saw the actual canyon, only the end of it. I have been there and I know what is the actual canyon, so I feel we were lied to. Grand Canyon...NOPE. Trip was a joke. SCAMMERS taking advantage of us. DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY, GO WITH ANOTHER ONE! Don't risk your trip being ruined. It may have been windy, but they mislead us into thinking that they would fly us over the canyon and never did. It was absolutely a waste of time. NEVER SAW THE ACTUAL CANYON. Wonder how many people think they saw the Grand Canyon, and didn't. These people were liars and were rude and the facilities are terrible.
Wasted our time and ruined our day. NEVER AGAIN.
We took this scenic air tour of the Grand Canyon with Grand Canyon Airlines. What a terrible waste of our time and money. We arrive at their airport facility and after the long drive we head towards the restroom. The women's restroom was filthy! Three toilet stalls and one was broken and leaking all over the floor. After the flight two were broken and leaking. The place stunk and was a safety hazard with the water on the floor. I had reported it when we first got there and no one had even put up any safety notices of the wet floor. The one working stall had a toilet bowl filled with black mold.
The plane we were on was filthy inside and smelled. No one bothers to clean anything from group to another. You are just loaded in like cattle and there is no room to even get comfortable once you are inside.
The grossly obese "First Officer" laughed and waved an air sickness bag around as the mandatory safety lecture. Very unprofessional.
The take off was the worst I have ever experienced. I decided that the headphones were given to the passengers so they couldn't hear the others screaming. No, I am not making it up, passengers were screaming they were so scared. The so called Pilot and First Officer were laughing about it as they looked back at us.
The inside of the plane is too small for the amount of people they stuff into there. The man behind us could not even sit down all the way as his knees dug into the back of my seat and folded it forward. He was forced to sit sideways and was actually in pain by the time we landed. The woman in front of me was crying because she was so scared during this terrible rough flight. The First Officer kept telling her to look out the window. He must have told her four times to look out as there was a river down there. She finally told him she darn well knew that as she was from Arizona.
When the flight is done they hustle you through the gift shop meeting you at the door to point out the picture they took of you with the Pilot and how you must purchase it to remember this flight.
Trust me, no one will ever forget that flight.
The one nice employee was the young man at the check-in counter. very polite, very helpful and very professional. I wish I had gotten his name, but I did not.
We feel totally ripped off by this. This airline caters to tour busses, so they don't care how they treat the passengers. These busses will leave and the people will go back home to other countries and never come back. There will be many more tour busses coming in every day, so it just like "cattle in and cattle off".
Don't waste your money.
We took a 45 minute plane tour and it was great! It was a smooth ride, great views and the Bose headphones with narrated tour made everything even better. I was hesitant because of the price but it was well worth it. Go for it!!!
