I come from Boston where the prices for organic foods are very high. New Frontiers has unbeatable prices. I paid .59 for a lb of sweet onions there while at Frys they were 1.09 a lb. and not organic. The prices are the best Ive seen in a long time. They have a greatselection of everything. I was buying my Gogi juice for over $50 a bottle back home, here, for the same thing its just under$35... Get with it Flagstaonians you dont know what expensive is until youve lived in New England!
Love the food, the deli, the meat section, produce & the cheese area! The prices are ridiculous......in fact........dollar for dollar, its actually cheaper, with gas and everything to shop @ Whole Foods in PHX.... The price is not what I have a problem with....I choose organic so I will pay for it, I understand all that, its just when I am not greeted or thanked for purchasing $200 that fits in to 2 bags that sends me through the roof. I have never shopped in a store where the employees are so put off to help you. I actually purchased some lovely sunflowers this summer and the girl ringing them up said "these are weeds where I come from" as she handed them to the bagger who was agreeing as she was apparently also from Kansas or something. Good thing I was not buying a car. THE RUDEST EMPLOYEES ON EARTH!! The sad thing is I still shop there......Gotta really love the organics in this town to go through hell to get em!
Expensive! Unlike other reviewers, I believe this to be the worst natural food store. The deli items are cold and have to be reheated in a microwave. The bread is dry, and little is to be said about the flavor of the food at the deli. Healthy does not equal bland, learn to cook with flavor! Lazy baggers asked if I wanted my over 20 items bagged. Cashiers and baggers alike eating and drinking, chatting it up while I am looking at my items sitting on the counter. I am looking forward to Whole Foods coming to Flagstaff.
It's expensive. On identical prepackaged items it's almost always more expensive then the large chain grocery stores.
The selection is very limited.
Recently they've been closing 10 minutes earlier than the posted time. I guess the manager is away
The bakery and prepared food is very good.
The employees are friendly and helpful.
Good selection of natural foods includng organic produce, meat, dairy and deli. Has a bulk section and nut grinder for fresher than fresh peanut and almond butter . Good vitamin and supplement section. Friendly staff. Good atmosphere. Good deli for eat-there or take out food and fresh juices. Easy to find, asy parking.
New Frontiers is a great place to shop and a great place to sit down and have a meal

My family loves New Frontiers -- we find many healthy alternatives to supermarket shopping and enjoy lunches and takeout from the deli. In addition, we have to admit we are drawn by the food samples, particularly on the weekend. We get a chance to try new foods and see if we like them, and this has frequently led to adding some new dimensions to our eating. New Frontiers also stocks a good selection of locally produced goods - eggs, goat cheese, tortillas, bread, pestos and salsas to name a few. Produce is beautiful -- it can be pricey but we shop the specials and get the best.
We also purchase health and beauty items here and these are of high quality and reasonable price.
Lunches from the deli are another great way to enjoy New Frontiers. I frequently have business lunches at NF (outdoors in summer, indoors with a great view year-round), and out of town friends can enjoy a great, reasonably priced fresh meal while people watching through the front window. The salad sampler is huge and inexpensive, too! Chair massages are available, too, as are Uncle Don Fanning's Peace is Patriotic bumperstickers (bumperstickers are free; there is a charge for massages).
The Flagstaff New Frontiers is an excellent store. Their prices are often high, yet sales are UNBEATABLE. I have bought organic pear and apples there on sale for $0.89/lb and found the same varieties NOT organic at Safeway for $2.99/lb on the same day. Also, natural food stores are typically more expensive, but like most industries, the more you buy the cheaper they can produce it.
Workers always try to help you to the best of their abilities. Try the baked goods such as cookies, cakes, et cetera. Sample any dish in the deli case. If you don't like it, you can always return it. Usually have a good variety of dairy free/vegan baked goods.
