Reindeer Farm

Description

Prepare to pet, feed and photograph both adult and baby reindeer at this farm eight miles south of Palmer. Gentle and tame, these "deer" are accustomed to visitors and are very friendly. Also available for visiting is a moose named Cathy and a blacktail deer named Feline. Don't forget to say hello to Eddy, a Rocky Mountain Elk. Call for tour prices.

LOVE this place....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/10/11
This place is totally awesome! I love animals and this is an excellent place to get up close and personal with these magnificant animals. I mean where else can you pet and feed Reindeer and Moose.....(the Elk were not interested in talking the day we were there :( I have just recently moved to Alaska and will visit as often as possible. Everybody who comes to visit us will be taking a trip to the Reindeer farm. My Christmas list this year can filled at their great little gift shop right there on site! Will be back soon!

The highlight of our trip !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/12/08
If you can only do one day trip from Anchorage this is the trip to take. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. The price is very reasonable and well worth it. You get a cup of pellets with your admission price and the reindeer will pester you until you have exhausted the food supply. The babies were adorable. The also have sitka deer, elk, bison, and moose. It's a great opportunity to get up close and personal with some amazing animals. Be sure to bring your camera! not only are the animals worth photographing, but the mountain setting is beautiful. Williams Reindeer Farm should be on everyone's to-do list !!!

I love it, where else can you actually pet a reindeer, and see the elusive bull rosevelt elk. Anyways they have a bison, 2 moose, a sika deer and lots of reindeer.

Awesome Farm!!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/19/08
It's a great place. You can get right up close to actual reindeer. Can you imagine that? The experiance was amazing. If you think that animals are neat you will love this place. Definitly worth the time and money that you will be spending it does have an hour long hike but,it's worth the effort and your family will love it. I would definitly recommend it to other families. If you are afraid the reindeer are feirce fighters you have nothing to worry about they are very tame annd friendly they want your company so get out and go to Reindeer Farm.

Kids love it!
By A local Diner, 12/22/07
Kinda costly, but the kids love it. Don't bring stroller babies though. Their faces are at a scary level (they get licked, or possibly bitten). Reindeer are not unfriendly, but still be careful. There are rules to follow, so don't be expecting Rudolph (maybe his slightly more assertive cousin, Fred). Fun time for the prepared family. Windy outside, so wear windbreaking gear.

Awesome Eddie!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/20/07
Our squadron spouses group took our kids on a field trip to the Reindeer Farm. The kids had a blast feeding the reindeer, Kathy Lee the moose and Awesome Eddie the elk. The scenery is breathtaking and the folks are very fun! When friends & family come to visit we will definitely be going to the Reindeer Farm.

Don't miss this stop
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/4/06
Every summer for the past seven years, I have had friends and family visit from the lower 48. I always look at physical ability, areas of personal interest and how much the person is able to spend on thier trip. The Reindeer Farm is always one of my stops. It has beautiful views and friendly owners. The reindeer are sweet and intelligent animals. You get a container of reindeer food, then walk among the herd. They eat from your hand. There are also other animals to see. The Reindeer Farm is centrally located in Palmer, 1-hour N of Anchorage, and on your way to other great attractions in Wasilla and more North cities. I encourage more physically able visitors to hike to the top of the Butte (the Reindeer Farm is at the base) The views leave everlasting impressions. The hike takes about 1-hour and you will get dirty.
