Ugh...this library is horrible
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/3/11
I had high hopes for this library but it's just awful. First of all, it stinks. Literally. It's really dirty inside and seems to have been horribly maintained. It smells like stale urine. Gross.
Second of all, with the exception of an older gentleman, all of the library workers are so cranky! They don't smile, or greet you, or answer questions nicely. They are stern, angry, and fit the stereotypical "tense, angry, uber-serious librarian."
Moving on, the books are so old and worn that I was shocked the first time I visited! I have never seen so many old, completely outdated books still in circulation! They're ripped, stained, and from the 70s. There have been so many times I've gone to the library looking for a book and they rarely have what I'm looking for. But if you're looking for a book from 1971 with nasty pages, this is the place for you!
The library policies are horrible as well. The check out time for DVDs is a mere 7 days! And if those go overdue, the fine is $1 a day! That is completely outrageous. This applies to ALL DVDs, not just new releases or those in high demand. And the fines for other materials are also sky-high. Ridiculous.
I keep going back because I normally love libraries, but every time I go, I regret it. I walk out cranky and disgusted. Smelly building, cranky librarians, gross old books, and incredibly punitive policies. Go to Barnes and Noble or TitleWave books and skip the library. I never thought I'd say that, but Loussac, you stink.
