Also in the Anchorage Hilton and the Fifth Ave Mall , these stores are full of delightful mementos of Alaska. The tiny blue state flower (the Forget-me-not) appears on sweatshirts, mugs, T-shirts, coasters and even earrings. Faux moose droppings will appear as gag gift candy and jewelry. A selection of Ulu knives and state-mined jade jewelry is here, along with gold nugget jewelry, watches and money clips. Smaller items include refrigerator magnets and stuffed Alaskanesque wildlife.
I was born there but left way to early. Went back in my mid twenties. It IS the place to spend a winter believe it or not. Enchanting is all I can say. If you can make it as a stage had there - the IATSI UNION is a blast to work with. I worked some great shows, had some great times, adn did some excellent snow camping. Miss it.
