Metro Music and Books, Anchorage

Near the Cafe Amsterdam restaurant and bakery, this bookstore holds a large variety of new and old CDs and cassettes of everything from hit singles to soundtracks. The book selection is equally extensive and includes everything from best sellers to the hard-to-find home schooling resources used by so many bush-Alaskans. The Alaskan section contains many titles by Alaska Geographic as well as other local publishers and authors. In addition to books and music, the store has a lovely assortment of stationery, small gift ideas, calendars and coffee mugs.
