A little piece of peace in Montgomery
The Wynton M. Blount Cultural Park is a lovely oasis in the middle of Alabama's Capital City. Home to both the world-renowned Alabama Shakespeare Festival and the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, this enormous park is like having a bit of Shakespearean England in Montgomery. Ponds and a variety of walking paths make this a picturesque place for an evening stroll or a weekend picnic. (Just watch out for the swans!) Throughout the year, several popular events are held on the grounds, including the Flimp Festival, and arts and crafts event, and "Broadway Under the Stars," an outdoor concert from the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra. Check it out, and see for yourself all that the Cultural Park has to offer.
