Giovanni and his crew are the best Mexico has to offer. This is not an excursion for party lovers or those who expect to be spoon fed dainty treats. If you are a serious diver, into snorkeling, or really want to see nature and marine life you cannot top Twin Dolphins! I've gone diving with other groups and they were fine, but Gio and crew are great! They will go out of their way to see you get what you paid for and more. They are courteous and practice safety. You will get lunch and soft drinks that are simple but taste pretty good out there in the sun and fresh air. You don't have to worry that some drunken idiot on a party boat is going to get sick in the water or take it into his/her head to just jump in without looking while snorkelers and divers are in the water as it is alcohol free. It is the best trip for serious divers and nature lovers. One trip I took included a two tank dive, instructions for a friend who had never even snorkeled while I dove, whale watching, a beach picnic, seeing dolphins and two mantas, and watching ever so many birds that were pointed out to us.
I would recommend Twin Dolphins above all others in Puerto Vallarta and the trip will give you more for your money than any others. I will definitely dive with Twin Dolphins over and over as I visit Puerto Vallarta annually.
Equipment was excellent and diving was above average. Ladies - bring your own wetsuit, because TD only had men's sizes on board. Also, there was one dive master for seven people. The dive master was knowledgeable, but definitely not patient and not personal. This type of trip is not for the trepid or the recently certified. The dive sites were pretty scenic with decent visibility in late February. Would likely try another company during the next visit to PV.
Visited PV for diving in 1996 and 2005. Both times dived with Twin Dolpins. In 2005 on the first dive we had several Giant Manta's and a Whale Shark. If you're an experienced and serious diver and don't want to do a touristic tour Twin D is the place to be. Ask what you want, and if possible Giovanni will arrange it for you. BRING a camera! We had a lot and I mean a lot of Manta sightings. Be quiet and the come to you to give you a ride! Forget the clear water in the Caribean with all the small stuff. Where do you get Manta's and a Whale Shark in one day?????

TD... We will probably be back in november :O)
Giovanni Macedo may not have the most well known dive shop in Puerto Vallarta, but what he has is a gem.
His crews are knowledgeable, fun-loving, and attentive to each diver's needs. The boats and equipment are excellent. The tours are no frills and you won't be teated to "all you can drink" partying, but they are a real value. Lunch is simply sandwiches, soft drinks, and chips. If you are adventurous, the crew will share a more Mexican menu including hot peepers that will knock your fins off! It is filling and more than suffices. You will probably get more than you hoped for. On a Sunday, two tank dive tour, we happened to see a lot of whale watching boats in the distance and headed over to check it out. We were rewarded with a pod of about 25 to 30 whales which we watched before going on to our dive site(s). We also saw dolphins and sea turtles. We were a little longer than planned for, but no one complained.
Another trip, I took along a girlfriend who had never dove or even snorkeled. She was so enthused that she had to go on my next trip and vows to learn to scuba dive! The only drawback is that the water visibility is not the clearest like the Carribean. But that is true throughout the area and certainly no fault of Twin Dolphins.
