An unusual aspect of Puerto Vallarta's art galleries is that many focus on local artists, as well as artists just getting started in the art world. If neophytes can get their work displayed here in a show, they will likely accelerate from struggling artist to a respected member of the art community. Past artists have included Neil Clifford and Cesare Alidori. New artwork comes in on a weekly basis, so there's always something exciting to see. The artists themselves often frequent the establishments and you may be lucky enough to meet one during your visit.
WOW! is all I have to say. I visited Galleria Dante this past week. I've been going there for years. It is absolutely beautiful. They have made some changes to the gallery this year that are absolutely phenomenal. Go for a visit, it will be quite the highlight. You'll enjoy every minute of it.
We are experiencing the first Southside Shuffle here. The galleries south of Rio Cuale are open every other Friday night starting at 6pm. Dante's is the largest gallery in PV. The owners have done astounding work renovating, expanding and it is chunk full of good local art and sculptures which are quite impressive. Check them out. It is great fun and carries an ability to run into many amigos. 11/26 was the last one, so count every 2 weeks forward to secure the right dates, as in 'next one is Fri. 12/10'.
there's always something interesting to see at the Dante, certainly one of the best galleries in town (i hesitate to call any place "the best"), but it really is a personal favorite and i've lived here for years and visited just about all of them. with an especially good collection of bronze sculptures.
The Galleria is always filled with top of the line art from leading and up and coming Mexican artists. We have loved for several years the friendly and informative care we receive from all involved.
Our paintings by Edgar Martinez are most treasured and enjoyed by all who come to our home.
Don't visit Puerto Vallarta without visiting Galleria Dante.
