tourist sucker

We visited Rancho Capomo in early Jan. 05. We had a wonderful time and bought souveniers, which we paid for with our credit card. While I guide was was dropping the different parties off at the end of the day, Jesus received a call on his cell saying our credit card did not go through. Feeling terrible about this, once we got to our resort, we paid Jesus with cash and a nice tip for the inconvenience. We immediately called the credit card company and was told the wrong expiration date was entered. We had thought given the delightful atmosphere of the Ranch, we were even... Until the credit card bill arrived, Rancho Capomo billed us again the next day, with the correct exiration date! Did Jesus pocket the money? Was this scenario a ploy the rip innocent tourists off? This changed our experience from great to terrible.
