Blue Shrimp (The), Puerto Vallarta Centro

Nothing but compliments on this place. VERY professional and courtious staff, the best shrimp we've ever had (and we've tried many options in recipe here). From our whole family going there, to meeting with friends to just the two of us; always impressed. We try to visit PV every spring and this is a "for-sure" stop each time.

On our 1st trip and 1st restaurant in PV several years ago I had the largest shrimp I had ever seen! My wife ordered "popcorn shrimp" for around $5 USD and had a plate full of finger size (from a 75" man) deep fried prawns! She took half of it back to our hotel fridge. My brother and his wife had the shrimp pasta for about $10 USD and were very pleased.I had the 6 pk of almost 10" prawns and it was cooked 3 different ways and it was unbeleivable about $40 USD. Salad Bar was very nice. The biscuts were the only disapointment. It is not a waterfront restaurant,but the staff were great and a very cozy place. I highly recommend this to any one who LOVES SHRIMP! I will be back...

The shrimp was great, choice of medium or jumbo shrimp, cooked countless different ways. Nice atmosphere, air conditioned (not many restaurants in Puerto Vallarta are) but the prices were nothing special. Go to a restaurant not in a tourist area for better prices. However, the waiter who serverd us also took our credit card number and bought himself some electronic equipment. We know it was him as the Blue Shrimp is the only place we used that card on our cruise. So pay with cash if you go.

The coconut shrimp was to die for. Hand made guacamole right at your table (a show in itself) They make a production out of doing a shot of tequilia (you have to experience this) Local band plays at your table (or not) Overall Rating... A+ We will recommend this place to everyone.

would definitely go back.. the shrimp was delicious, some of the recipes were a little bit salty. my favorite was the cranberry shrimp, we ordered the 3 types of shrimp with an additional order of a different type, fun ordering all types of shrimp. Very nice size shrimps. Seemed they did not have a lot of things that were on the menu, lobster bisque and some of the desserts, but all the shrimp meals were there.. yummy!! Service was very nice and friendly!

Great feel, food was top shelf and staff where fantastic. I would recomend this for a romantic evening or small group. The wait staff made you feel like you where family. We ordered the blue shrimp special it was way more food that you could eat and every thing we tried was fantastic. We will dine there again!!!

Puerto Vallarta was one of our ports of call during our cruise. My husband and I decided to go ashore and treat ourselves to a nice dinner. A couple we came accross recommended the Blue Shrimp resturant. The food and service were excellent. We travel a lot and The Blue Shrimp returant had some of the best food we have ever tasted. We were very impressed. Surely a must see! Can't wait to go back!

Why would a restaurant so pricey put a roll of paper towels on the table for use as your napkins. Tacky, overpriced, and worse. The shrimp is sold by weight, then choose your recipe, starting at 19.99 for 8 oz of medium shrimp on up to 49.99 for jumbo and beyond. I think they charge extra for a Dennys style salad bar. We didn't risk it. Each of us in our party who had the garlic shrimp was ill the next day. The waitress took our order and we never saw her again. There are wonderful places to eat in Puerto Vallarta, don't waste your time or money or health here.

The Blue Shrimp is one of the best seafood places in Puerto Vallarta, JA. It is classy, yet casual. The servers and waiters/waitresses are very knowledgable in food service, and also in what they serve. I would recomend this place to anyone who loves seafood! There is no doubt in my mind that the people recomended to go there would love it and the word of mouth would also give it the creadibility that it needs to stay in operation. The servers are personal with the customers. We were not treated as just another customer, but as a family. We shared family and interests stories with the waiter, and he shared stories about his interests and family back with us. The price was not bad at all for the amount of food you get. You get to see the bread (appatizer) be made. They have a muscial trio that goes around and sings to differnt tables. It is very inviting and a comfortable setting. The food and the cost will make anyone come back multiple times. Thank You Blue Shrimp for such an enjoyable experience at your restarunt! Hoepfully we will be back someday.

We ate there twice and loved it. The staff was great. The prices were very reasonable. Only downside was smoking was allowed, but that was everywhere.
