Trio Restaurante, Puerto Vallarta

The reviews are wonderful for this restaurant and expected a little better! everything was good, dont get me wrong, but just okay! it was a restaurant that I could have went to at home, nothing spectacular. If you order the Beef Carpaccio ask for lite on the oil and vinegar, there was so much dressing it cooked the meat. Everything was good, just not impressive.

We have been to Trio many times over the last 10 years and have referred many but not anymore. Service,Food Quality and Management Style are inconsistent with operating a top drawer restaurant. This has occurred with in last 18 months as apparently the focus is on "profits" and not the business. At $100(usd) or so for a couple much more should be given.

Superb service, food, atmosphere and priced correctly. A "must do" in the dining world of Puerto Vallarta. There's just isn't any more to say.

After reading a variety of reviews, we expected excellent food and service, let's call it 5 star. We experienced 3 stars. The service was mediocre at best. We were a party of 6, seated nearly alone on the 2nd floor. Even then the waiter service was difficult. One of us had to get up and actually walk over to a waiter to get attention. The cocktails were mediocre and very under powered. They had no specials, and did not even know what we were talking about. Having the bartender add alcohol to the drinks improved them. The appetizers were tasty, but small. Somewhere I read that the appetizers were very large - they are not - maybe the restaurant changed chef or management. The main courses were not bad. The rack of lamb was very good. The trio of seafood was a hodgepodge of shellfist and fish, overcooked and not really blended together. The sea bass was tasty and well cooked. The final bill for the meals was nearly 2000 pesos (for 6 people) and the drink tab, including a bottle of Chilean sauvignon blanc came to 1200 pesos. In summary, this is a fair italian style restaurant, on a noisy side street in PV, with fairly high prices.

Would not recommend as a good value for the money. The food was OK ... not bad, but certainly not the best we had in Puerto Vallarta (Cafe des Artists or the small cafes on the malecon). The waiters were disinterested at best, hurrying us through our meal. I made a reservation months in advance and got a pretty cruddy table.

Trio was recomended by a longtime friend and as we we went there we were not let down. The personalized service, great drinks and perfect wines all combined with the food which is superb and generous and extremwely well balanced in textures, flavours and combination made us all great fans of this restaurant. We will be back next year !

what a taste!!!!! the food prepare with such an inspiration, every plate had love and flavor ...higly recomend the lamb and the red snaper. but for sure try the desserts.... thanks i¨ll be back

Over the last 6 years, this has been the most consistent restaurant in PV and I have tried them all. The food and service never fail to please.

Not only the best restaurant in Puerto Vallarta, one of the best anywhere! We have been going there for at least seven years and it only gets better.

It was dreamy. We had a private table for two on the balcony, the musicians strolled through the restaurant. We had our meal prepared by a chef from Finland, PV was having ther annual restaurant festival. The food was excellent, the theme was "Into the Forest, so we had game. I had some of the best dining experiences of my life in PV. The warmth & professionalism of the service, and the quality of the food just blew us away. We did not now the highlight of our vacation to Mexico would be our meals.
