The Amalia Hernández Ballet, one of the most famous and traditional, offers presentations several times a year in places such as the Teatro Metropólitan, the Palacio de Bellas Artes and the National Art Centre. Tickets vary between 270 and 100 pesos, depending on the seats and the performance. Parking is available at all locations.
Have been there twice. Will go again during any visit to Mexico City. The theatre is amazingly gorgeous. This dance group does not compare to any other folklorico. This one is true ballet at it's finest.
This performance should not be missed. It is worth extra effort to attend. Just the Tiffany glass curtain with its beautiful scene and special lighting is worth the price of admission. Costumes, music, and performances are all first class. The dancers exhibit joy as well as exceptional talent. You will feel like you had a taste of all of Mexico by the time you leave. We lived in Mexico City for 6 years and always took our guests. It was a highlight of the visit for everyone.
