For those interested in Mexican folk art, these two large apartments recently converted into a museum are worth a visit. Ruth Lechuga's personal collection has been more than fifty years in the making. Nearly 10,000 masks, nativity scenes, textiles, lacquers, wickerwork and other wooden pieces mirror the daily lives of the country's various indigenous peoples. These items are exhibited not just for their artistic merit, but also because they reflect the pluralistic nature of Mexico's cultural composition and the importance of traditions passed down from one generation to the next.

A magical experience for all. . .
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/27/05
I have not been to the "museum" in a few years, but visited it often from the time I was a child living in Mexico City until a few years ago on trips to see relatives; it has always captivated my imagination and inspired me. Most of all, the heart and soul of the "museum" is Dr. Ruth Lechuga (my dear cousin). Best wishes and blessings to her and hers always.
