This is a gem!

This former convent is a near-perfect example of adaptive re-use of an old building for modern purposes. Originally constructed of solid stone featuring arcades around a courtyard, it has been recently converted to house the ministries of art and culture of the state of Jalisco. The associated gallery spaces are stupendous. When we were there, an exhibition of contemporary art - paintings, photographs, prints etc. - of various artists from Guadalajara had been recently installed.
Whether or not you like contemporary art, if you appreciate architecture at any level, this is a must-see. If the architects who planned and executed the renovation of the building haven't been recognized for their efforts, they most certainly should be.
