Punta Morena
Description
Punta Morena caters to the "beach bum" contingent. The surf on this eastern beach is intense, making it the logical hangout for boogie boarders and those who like to "hang-ten". It is not suitable for sunbathing or swimming, but if you're in a sporting mood there is no place better on the island. The local snack bar offers beach fare and primitive beach shacks for rent. Follow the Costera Sur highway east until Parque Punta Sur, turn north and continue for six miles passing Chen Rio and Playa de San Martin.
