Isla de Pasion
This tiny island just off Cozumel's northern coast is part of the state-sponsored wildlife refuge located in the Abrigo Bay. Almost no one visits this island and consequently the beaches are filled with birds and wildlife. Fishing is permitted but since there are no scheduled tours those interested in visiting must hire a boat. For the hearty hiker in search for an adventure there are trails leading from the North Punta Molas Road to the island. Contact the tourism board for more information.
i did not like this place at all the buffet was nasty and the seats that me and my
mom had to sit in were uncomfortable
to lay on. jorge the tour guide was very good though. the water was blue but it did have alot of seaweed in it though. But what i think is what made the island ugly is the hurricane in cozumel all the trees were facing to only one side.
Another thing that was bad was on the island people were selling stuff and pretty much they were talking u into buying it and it was annoying. Also when i went into the bathrooms the people wanted a tip every where they went. I would never go there again and i have seen alot better beaches then that.
My husband and I spend 6 days in Cozumel. Cozumel has beautiful beaches but the beach @ Isla Pasion is the most BEAUTIFUL beach I have ever laid eyes on! Pure, clean beauty! The white sand the turquise water....... sigh! I can still feel the sand in my toes and the warm water. The host Aida is the greatest! SHe is very kind :) Had a great time
we love cozumel and pasion island, the buffet was wonderful olso my tour guide hugo was nice with my family the I teach us that the life in mexico is very beautiful, the food is very rich as the huacamole and the beer
We knew from the start after meeting our guide Jorge this would be a great time. He was fun and keep calling us Hey Sooners. Took a short bus ride and boat ride to the best beach in the world. Dont go thinking it will be a snorkel area, it has huge white sand bar, perfect for swimming. They had a very good lunch buffet, plenty of Ice cold corona. They played games, toss the water balloon, and throw darts (the women won).
You could do what you wanted, go down the beach away from the others, stay close play games etc. the guides were always helpful and courteous. They did have a few tents to sell tee shirts and such just like in town. This was a very relaxing beach; I would recommend it to anybody. Best guides we have ever had on any excursion.
We took a Twister boat over to the island for several hours.
The beach is pristine-gorgeous white sand. The water is clean, clear, and equally beautiful. The tour we were on provided a full buffet-and the food was much better than we expected!!- as well as an open bar, soda bar, and cash bar for those wanting their open bar selections with a little more KICK.
It was worth every penny, and became a highlight of our trip.
Hoping to return someday.....
We loved everything about Isla de Pasion! It was our honeymoon and the staff catered to our every whim! The entire trip was great! The people were wonderful - Jorge, the tour guide, was great. The staff on the island met your every need from the moment you arrive until you regrettfully leave. The huts were beautiful and romantic-some have hammocks. The food was terrific, and the open bar, complete with tequila and Corona's was fabulous! The water is beautiful, and feels so great! I would love to have a private hut on the island and just stay there as it was everything one could want!
When we would start to go to the bar to get a drink, the staff would see us and say, "Stay, we'll get it! You're on vacation!" They were great!
The ride on the bus was made nice by the excellent tour guide. He was funny and interesting. The island is gorgeous. Everything from the bluest, blue water, whitest, powder sand, incredible food, drinks, drinks, drinks and the nicest staff make this my favorite place. I was there in April 2006 and will be there again in Feb. 2007. I sahred it with my family first and now 11 of my girlfriends and I will be there. Can't wait. Do yourself a favor and go. You will not regret it.
