Due to the damage caused by Hurricane Wilma, the following description may no longer be accurate. Please consider this when making your travel plans. Pancho's is practically a household word in Cozumel. Location and decor set it apart. Nestled inside a restored Colonial warehouse surrounded by a lush garden it has a menu geared to the gringo stomach. House specialties include sopa de frijoles (black bean soup), steak fajitas, and grilled shrimp. The cuisine goes down easy with a house special Margarita. Guests can choose to dine on the patio or back garden. After lunch you can visit the elegant Los Cinco Soles store for some great deals on lovely Mexican handicrafts.

Americanized Mexican food in Mexico

I spent over two weeks in the Yucatan; this was the third worst meal I had. This is a tourist trap, pure and simple. I was embarassed to be eating there. If you want to PRETEND to eat Mexican food but really eat something mediocre and Americanized, then this is for you. However, since you're already faking it, why not just give up the ghost and go up the street to the Hard Rock Cafe? It's better... One small plus, though: they make a very strong margarita.

1993, 2006, and soon 2008!!!

We ate here for the first time on our honeymoon in 1993 and loved it!! Took our kids in 2006 and again it was awesome!! Kids had virgin margaritas and we had non virgin ones!! The staff was awesome and so kind to the kids...after we ate a band showed up and let my 3 year old play one of the instruments! This year we are heading back for our 15 year wedding anniversay and cant wait!!! Highly recommend this resturant!

We've been there twice, on two separate trips. Both times were AWESOME. Th atmosphere....the service...the FOOD! Awesome! Ole!!!

Nice

This is the story I have from Panch's. My party of four were seated and placed our orders. Within 10 minutes or so, our server came over to us and apologized for the delay in getting our food. He told us the kitchen was backed up and it would be another 5 minutes. We looked at him as if he had 3 heads. A five minute wait? I've waited a half hour at Kentucky Fried Chicken. A five minute wait in a great atmosphere, listening to a live band and sipping Mango Margarita's? Please take your time. I could have waited an hour. I can't wait to go back there!

Gotta Love Pancho's

We were on a cruise the week of October 17th and one port-of-call was Cozumel. Just by chance my husband suggested we stop in for a couple of margaritas. Best decision ever. We had two waiters that were fantastic...Manuel and Edwin. We were also celebrating my sister-in-law's birthday and the entire group of waiters made it a really special time for her. I would suggest anyone experience Pancho's at least once. I know I can't wait to go back. I just hope that hurricane Wilma was kind.

Best in town

On a recomendation we at lunch after shopping and had to come back with friends next day for dinner. Professional service, wonderful meal, great ambience. Ranks among the top during our week there. Prices are in line with top end rest. Portions were very ample for a full meal. Please dont forget the fried ice cream!

Poncho's is absolutly fantastic! My husband and I have been the Cozumel for the last 2 summers and have enjoyed this delightful area and restaurant both times. The guacamole is beyond compare. Make sure and try a local beer! The service is fantastic and the view... ahh, the view. We had our picture made on the restaurant's patio and sent it to all our friends as a Christmas card last year! Poncho's Backyard is the best backyard in all of Mexico! Don't miss it!

Free tanzanite ring with purchase of 2 margaritas!

This place is awesome! Great food and excellent service. Relax in the shade and drink the best margaritas in the world! I had two myself and after leaving I stopped and bought my wife the tanzanite ring I was against earlier. I can't wait to go back next summer!

Romantic Place!

We went there twice in one day. It is near the port, so it has a nice view of cruise ships. We ate lunch there, went in to the city, and before we boarded the ship at 10, had a margarita on the beach in the loungers. It was great! So relaxing and romantic!
