Prima, Adolfo Lopez Mateos

I have been going to Cozumel for the last 3 years. Prima was my favorite restaurant. I mean, we even walked out of La Veranda to eat at Prima, and we had it the night before. Just returned from a visit to Cozumel and boy were we disappointed. We went to the restaurant and it was closed! Signs said that they moved to the condo building near to Chedraui, same food, same staff, same prices. We took a cab over. Prices were definitely not the same. My usual order (Combo) used to be 190 pesos and now it's 250 pesos. We figured that was ok, with the economy and the new fancy digs, it was expected. The entrees came and the portions were half the size they used to be! The sauce was gloppy, pasta was soggy, and the seafood was mushy and overcooked. The owner was there when we were seated and was such an ass! He mentioned that people said that they would not visit the new restaurant and that he didn't care because he is making money anyways! We had 2 people bail on us, and he was like "That's OK. I don't need the money." Hmmm... And the garlic rolls were missing! Replaced with cold hard bread... :( All in all, Prima used to be great. But not anymore. They need to get the old chef back, or someone should open another Italian place and put the old chef in charge!

The food is great! One of our favorite places to go when we are in Cozumel. My favorite lasagne is at Prima. The owner is great. The employees have all been there a long time.

food was overcooked, overpriced. Frommers and Yahoo really got it wrong on this one. I had the lobster fetucini and my boyfriend had the seafood lasagna, both were overcooked and hard like they were prepared 8 hours ago and kept under a heat lamp. The wine was not what we ordered (bad - even though we knew the bottle and knew this to be good wine). The tuna sashimi was GROSS - not fresh even last week!! Do not waste your money or your time on this place, bad food.

Poor service , Order steak poor quality, So called music was very loud. This resturant was in the center of town and it moved to this new location on the top floor good view but we would not go back.

I cannot say enough, Prima has great food and service. I had the lobster and pasta, best i ever had. The margaritas are also big and affordable. Best food for the price in Cozumel, a must!!!!!

I cannot say enough good things about Prima. The quality of service is exceeded only by the quality of the food. Even if you're staying at an all-inclusive resort, it's worth a trip into town to dine here. Make reservations and save room for the tiramisu.

Was there 7 years ago and loved the food.Went there last Sunday and even though I read all the bad reviews on the internet I still was hoping they were wrong.Boy what a mistake.There was 4 of us and we all had something different.The seafood was so overcooked there was nothing left in the crab shells.The pasta was mush and the lobster was so bad it tasted like rubber.The alfredo sauce was brown and watered down.We all left with food still on our plate.With all the good places to eat on Cozumel we will never be back to prima.
