Veranda (La), Adolfo Lopez Mateos

After visiting numerous eating facities on the island we found another jewel. Our decision to go was from the rating we found on the web. We were not dissappointed and will definitely go back. Our group of 10 was treated to great hospitality and a superb meal. Presentation was only outdone by the quality! It was an event we will not soon forget. Two thumbs up!!!!

We went to La Veranda on our last day in Cozumel and it was the best meal that I have ever eaten. I went in expecting the prices to be high like the other island restaurants but they weren't. My wife and I got the Jerk Chicken and the Caribbean Chicken. Both entrees were perfect. The ambiance was great and very quiet. If you go to Cozumel, go to La Veranda!!

This restaurant has no equal that I have ever found. This will be the best meal you will have on your trip. This will be the best service you have experienced. This will be the best setting for a meal you have ever had. If you get the chance order the Lobster Patron, in season only, simply the most flavorful balanced dish possible. Guys if this place doesn't WOW her, nothing will...

La Varanda is a beautiful, secret Cozumel garden oasis. Even in July the garden was a cool, pleasant and beautiful. We went after sundown. The seafood specials were fresh and favorable. Our waiter, Roberto, told us he has been serving guests in the garden for over 20 years. He prepared an exquisite, delicious tableside banana flame that was better than any we have experienced at five star metropolitan restaurants. We found the prices fair and reasonable and the ambience peaceful and personal. Even our 18 year old son declared our La Veranda dinner his favorite vacation meal.

What's not to like about this oasis in the middle of San Miguel? Once you walk into the garden/veranda, you're transported to another time and place. The tables are not crowded in. There's a beautiful fountain in the middle and a gazebo at one end with twinkling lights in the foliage surrounding the garden. The food and service are exquisite. My husband and I both had different shrimp entrees that were prepared table side. What better way to tantalize the senses before even tasting the sumptuous meal. This is the best restaurant I have ever eaten at anywhere.

There is nothing to dislike about this place! It is truly one of the most perfect restaurants we have ever had the good fortune to discover anywhere. The food, service, ambience are all exceptional. Flambeed main courses and desserts cooked table-side are world-class. So this makes it all the more puzzling why on our recent trip to Cozumel we ate there twice and on both occasions there were few other diners. While dumps like Carlos'n Charlies and Senor Frogs are busting at the seams, serving burgers and tacos, fine dining establishments like La Veranda are always quiet. Perhaps more effort should be made to advertise the upscale venues of Cozumel? Getting the Intercontinental to provide their guests with a list of sophisticated dining choices in town, would be helpful to guests like ourselves. Anyway, bottom line is, it would be a tragedy for this fine restaurant to disappear. We can't wait to come back!

We have eaten at this wonderful restaurant several times during our three visits to Cozumel. The last time was for my birthday at the end of June. I could hardly believe that we were one of only three parties that evening! It is always a delightful place to dine. The food is excellent, the service attentive and the ambiance in the courtyard truly magical, with fairy lights in the trees, tinkling fountain and all. And of course they brought us lovely key lime pie with a birthday candle (and complimentary drinks) to top off the evening. Can't wait for the next time!

The meal at La Veranda was my favorite during our vacation. I wish we would have had a longer stay in Cozumel, so I could have eaten there again. The flank steak on the Mexican Platter was the best I've ever eaten. Our server was very friendly and attentive without being overbearing. I would love to recreate the patio in my backyard! Cheers!

The quiet veranda (hence the name) is what makes this so special. The world-class food served to you at tables that are seated as privately as possible makes this a definite for any Cozumel trip.
