Cabo Expeditions, Cabo San Lucas

My 2 teenage daughters, my husband and myself did the swimming with the whalesharks tour on Feb.16/12 and were VERY disappointed! They did not use a plane to find the whalesharks. Instead, they had us help them by searching the water for their "shadows" under the surface. We approached a couple of groups of boats, assuming they were there, but by then the whalesharks were scared off. We jumped in the water (which was quite rough and VERY chilly) three seperate times when our tour guide spotted one, but we never got near it or even saw it! We got back on the boat each time, trying to spot one again. We finally spotted one from the boat, but all we really saw was a shadow - none of their spots or anything clear. That was it. It was a windy, cloudy day and we were freezing the whole way back (clearly not the tours fault, but it added to our disappointment). The tour cost us $700.00US and took up 10 1/2 hours of our vacation. We are normally not complainers and have travelled a lot and have done many tours including swimming with dolphins, sting rays, and nursesharks and we have NEVER spent more money or have been so upset. Our girls said they would have rather stayed at the resort that day and saved us $700.00! We realize mother nature plays a part in this and the weather wasn't ideal (windy & cold) which made the water rough and hard to see. Also, maybe the other groups of tours made the whaleshark scared so it stayed away...I just wish that all the info on the tour was clear that you may not get close to them or even really see them. I don't think we would have risked the money or the time. After a couple of days of complaining to our tour representitive at the hotel we were reimbursed $200.00 . After we returned home and posted this review, we were contacted by Cabo Expeditions by email and they were willing to do anything to make it right. They went above and beyond what we expected. Special thanks to Oscar for being so great! If we return to Cabo, we will definately give them another chance. :)

We have been going to Cabo for over 15 years. We happened upon Cabo Expeditions by accident and have been grateful to be a part of the business since the beginning. I am a very cautious American woman and would never put my young daughter at risk. We have been on several excursions with Cabo Expeditions and always feel that they take extreme caution and ere of the side of safety first! GREAT for Cabo!! We always are at ease with Cabo Expeditions, whether we are parasailing around Land's End or just snorkeling around the area. This company knows how to do it and make you feel at ease! Can't say enough good about this wonderful Cabo tour/activity company. They will always take that extra step to make each experience one of a kind and memorable! I've been to cabo several times during whale watching season and have always made a point to do a Cabo expedition whale watching excursion. The crew is great and very knowledgeable. I've never been disappointed ... we've always found lots of whales!! Going Back in March and Cabo expeditions is first on my list of things to do. Tina

Cabo Expeditions is one of the best tour companies in the world. Very personable and knowledgeable... Friendly as anything and they will be friends for life. All tours with them, jet-ski and snorkel, Ecological Snorkel, and Parasailing was amazing. They helped make Cabo a great memorable place. The guides showed us views of Cabo that are unimaginable, I've got pictures to prove it... And Oscar you are darling, love you!

While a bit pricey, I would recommend them. We did two excursions with them The first was a jet ski tour. 2 1/2 hours, we went to lands end and took pictures, then rode along the coast to Santa Maria. There, we docked the jet skis and snorkled for an hour. Like the earlier review said, they got a blowfish for us and let us hold it. It was $75 per person. You may be able to rent a jet ski by the hour cheaper since we had 2 people. That way you can do your own thing. Then we did parasailing. $35 per person for 10 minutes. It was cool, but we didn't get very close to lands end. I was hoping to get closer to take a couple better pictures... but it was still cool.
