Romeo y Julieta
Here is an excellent alternative to Ristorante Italiano Galion for those with smaller pocketbooks. The menu features Italian cuisine, with an emphasis on Pasta and Pizzas baked in wood-fired ovens. The atmosphere is pleasant with an upscale European ambience. The clientele is comprised mainly of couples and thirty-somethings. This is a nice place to take your significant other for a cozy meal at a reasonable price.
This is the best italian I have EVER had, the ambiance is great, having an open air feel, the service was fantastic and they were always close by to get you anythign you needed and to top it off the presentation of the food alone is gorgeous!
We loved Romeo y Julieta's! We made a reservation for the restaurant through the front desk at the Finisterra and when we got there, we were the only one's out of 6 groups. I enjoyed it the most when they made the caesar dressing from scratch at our table. All of the food was rich in flavor. Be sure to leave room for desert, they have many good choices. We will definitely go back when we are in Cabo next.
We were staying at the Playa Grande and they recommended this restaurant (they own it, but we were assured that it was still very good). The place was pretty busy, with lots of families, so we thought it looked okay. There were no immediate tables, so were were sat in a makeshift bar area. We couldn't get the waiter's attention (even though there were only 4 tables) for about 15 minutes. When the drinks came, our dining table opened up. After that, everything went downhill.
To many problems to mention, but I will hit the key negatives.
1. Who is waiting on us? We had numerous waiters standing around, but no one seemed to be ours. We had to repeatedly give our drink orders over and over again and we still never received everything.
2. Where is our food? It took (no kidding) two hours to receive our main course. We watched as several other tables were served out of order. We were pretty sure they forgot to put in our order. The place was busy, but not that busy.
3. This is it? After waiting so long, you would think the food would be wonderful. It's not. The appetizers were pretty good (salads mostly), but the spinach pasta and lasagna weren't even as good as Costco's.
4. Where is the apology? They knew it had gone very badly. They didn't even bother to ask how everything was. We attempted to negotiate the bill (didn't they owe us something?) and we stood around 15 more minutes as they tried to find a manager. Finally we just left.
We have been to Cabo twice nice and each time, this place is a must for us. Everything down to the atmosphere made for the most memorable of evenings. Always had excellent service and the caesar salad that they prepare at your table is the best we ever had anywhere. This hidden treasure is a real gem.
