This is the main plaza in Acapulco, an Alameda shaded by beautiful trees and ornamental plants. There is a bandstand, and on Sunday afternoons tourists and locals can enjoy free music and dance shows. Around the plaza are many craft shops, as well as Acapulco's Cathedral and some banks and travel agencies. Behind the plaza, visit the historic neighborhoods of Acapulco, and in front of it, have a look at El Malecón, where the yachts sail out every day.
The people were very friendly, atmosphere excellent, unfortunately the bay is VERY contaminated, the sewage from most of the places on the bay run their sewage directly into it.So if one stays out of the bay there are many things to see and do,if the violence there subsides someday it will be a great place to visit,
