Rock Train stands out by having the crown of the Statue of Liberty at the entrance. It is a small place with rock and heavy metal music. Here you will listen to the famous "in" bands of various genres, and on weekends they have live bands playing. Many televisions showing music videos complete the picture, adding to the fun. The bar is comfortable, has good service, has all types of drinks, and snacks.
I visited Acapulco in 2000, and stayed at the Costa Club, which is just behind the Rock Train. My travel companion and I frequented the trendy, upscale nightclubs, but would visit the Rock Train to have a couple of drinks, and listen to some solid rock music before heading out. This place isn't the Ritz. It's just like the dive bars in the U.S or Canada. The bathroom's in dire need of renovation, some of the bar stools have tears in them, and the place doesn't draw a big crowd. But the staff is great, they play the music as loud as you want them to, and it's a nice warmup for the clubs if you're into rock music.
