Chinatown

Description

This thriving, bustling nerve center of Montreal's Chinese community teems with restaurants, unique craft shops, martial arts emporiums, exotic foods, herb and traditional medicine stores, Asian medical services and acupuncturists. Designed with pedestrian traffic in mind, the narrow streets are constantly packed with visitors and those who work in the area. Dozens of restaurants dole out weekend dim sum brunches and late-night victuals. At the entrance to the district are large arches, replicas of Imperial gates.

AWESOME!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/23/07
I loved all the variety of the shops and stores. I went there in the middle of the summer so it wa HOT! I suggest that if you are one who does not mix well with heat you should go in the beggining of the summer or late spring. But other than that it was AWESOME! This is a definite must.

Good food...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/6/04
Montreal's Chinatown is, of course, not half as big as London's or N.Y's but, its a nice place to take a walk, shop around and eat out in various asian restaurants (Cantonese, Szechouanese, Vietanmese, Korean, etc). Personnally, I love spending my lunch break at a little Traditionnal Chinese square on De la Gauchetire just off St-Laurent...Try "Chez Bong"(on St-Laurent) their Korean BBQ Chicken and Kimchi rocks!
