Montreal's Formula One weekend is centred around the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve on Notre-Dame, with the St. Lawrence River and the Montreal skyline in the background. Jacques Villeneuve carries Canada's hopes for the checkered flag at the country's largest attended sporting event. Bars, restaurants and hotels are packed throughout the weekend with race fans from all over the world. Qualifying takes place Friday and Saturday (from 7a), while the race goes on till Sunday.
Montreal is one of the best cities in Canada. You will think you are in Europe, but are still in North America. The old blended with the new, along with lots of restaurants, cafes, boulangeries, outdoor verandas, lots of shopping, different cultures of course the French being strong. But all in all just one big party!
The grand prix is actually a minor part of the environment during "GRAND PRIX WEEKEND" This is the time of year when Montreal becomes a city unlike any other this world has to offer. Great parties,beautiful women, tons of once in a lifetime cars and thats just on St-Laurent street! Crescent street is an electric atmosphere filled with anticipation and an all-around joie-de-vivre. I have travelled all-around the world and currently live in Chicago but there is no where else in the world i would rather be than Montreal Grand Prix Weekend!
