Whether your mood dictates a little elbow bending or cue-stick finesse, striking up a conversation or just people watching, few places in Montreal allow you to do it better than Churchill's. One of the first success stories on Crescent Street, this bar has been one of the city's best known for more than 30 years. The atmosphere is chummy, with smiles and laughter all around, though some might find the pick-up scene somewhat unwholesome. Specials are offered every weekday night and the bar boasts that it has never closed early.

Don't Eat Here
By Paul Lavallee, 11/03/06
The food at the Churchill is awful. It's a fine place to have a drink, but do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else and go to the Churchill for a pint afterwards. My date's meal looked like it had been taken out of a box and thrown in the microwave before being "served" to her. Horrendous!

Endless Fun
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/29/05
My girlfriends and I were in Montreal for three days and decided to go out on our last night for some fun and excitement. Our path took us to Sir Winston Churchill Pub on Crescent....and let me tell you what a night that was....First of all we had an awesome waitress. She was very friendly and had a smile from ear to ear. GREAT SERVICE!!! Prices are more then reasonable!! If you intend to drop by this great establishment make sure you make a point of trying their ORIGINAL SANGRIA!!! Best sangria I have ever tasted! Great music, Great time, Great Everything!!! You haven't experienced Montreal if you haven't been to Sir Winston's!!!

Always true
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/12/04
Few places allow patrons to let their pub be everything, but this is one of those few. Small and intimate, if need be, brash and loud full of imbibing journalists if that's the want, authentic basic pub grub or very good food, sitting by a window watching snow fall or partying with the Christmas crowd of co-workers. It all works here. Always has.
