McKibbin's Irish Pub

Description

You know you have something going when you are voted in as Montreal's top spot to eat for under CAD10. Crowds come for live entertainment, 18 imported beers on tap, Irish sports on TV and a huge variety of single malt scotches. "Hooley Hour" runs from 5p-8p, and there is a Monday poker night with a prize auction, a terrace, cigar room, and a lounge with fireplace. Wednesdays, the ladies get to drink for free from 9p to midnight, whereupon things become slightly less civilized. Sunday offers traditional Irish music.

Not what I thought!
By ,
I have been to the Mckibbons downtown and so far so good. They could use a few more servers but other then that,it was a good experience. Tried the West Island location after work. The bartender was rude and too busy to serve us,she was talking with someone and told us to wait. Wasn;t even busy,it was 4pm! Prices for drinks are pricey, food is cold and the place is noisy. Don;t think I will be back, unless they make some changes.

What a fantastic place.
By ,
We were told by the concierge at our hotel to go to McKibbin's Irish Pub if we were looking for really good food, selection of imported beers and live entertainment. Wow...all in one place? We went for supper around 6pm. The atmosphere was really warm and the decor was beautiful. The waitress suggested that we try the Irish onion soup or the Guinness burger. I ordered both! WOW! It was exceptional. My mouth still waters when I think of that burger. After a few pints of Guinness we noticed the band setting up and they came on around 10:30pm...yes we stayed that long. The band was awesome, playing all the greats. We really loved this place and we will most definately visit the other locations.

Ive tried but Im done with that place

Im talking about the one in pointe claire I liked the bouncers I disliked everything else crowded, no room drinks are overpriced and one staffer kept changing the price of the same drink they kick you out if your slowly drinking. nothing spectacular try cages aux sport bar instead or thursdays. same crowd with better service and prices. By the way ive been there several times in hopes of a better experience but no such luck

Won't be going back
By ,
We went for lunch, and found the service to be absolutely despicable. There were numerous problems with our order, but not once did our waitress apologise. We waited over 45 mins for our food, and when it did finally come out, one dish was lukewarm, and the other was not what we had ordered. We mentioned this to our server, but there was no apology. Not even an offer to remedy the situation. We won't be returning.

Nice pub!
Good selection of beer, good ambiance, good bands, cheap compared to other places, well recommended to tourists and locals. Last time I went was during the american spring brake, lots of tourists were present. I felt on vacations! The band - Citizen Kane - was outstanding, performing the requests of the crowd in a very professional way.

Great Pub
By ,
Just a fantastic Irish Pub. We were told by the front desk to check it out. He told us that he sent Jude Law there last week and he loved it. Jude apparently went back almost every night. If Jude Law loved it why would'nt we. We went, and WOW. Great food, awesome band and really nice people.

Ai da da dee

Can we say fantastic? This is a pub that we literally stumbled onto while staying for the weekend in Montreal. Dont bother going to the upper floors. Take in the lowest floor of the pub-which is much quieter, a better atmosphere and hosts the BEST bartender I have ever met. His name is Kevin and without a doubt this man personifies fun! He is entertaining, engaging and bursting with energy. The only problem with this floor is that it clears out about 12am. Also, the pub itself has rather expensive drinks. Other than that, great place. Met loads of fun people and within walking distance of many local hotels. Cheers!!!

Just Like Home

I was in Montreal on business and felt a little home sick so I dropped by McKibbin's for a Pint of stout.I was told by the concierge at my hotel to go to McKibbin's for the real deal. I can only say that I was a little sceptical as I've been to hundreds of pubs around the world that claim there the real thing. As soon as I walked through the front door I was literly transported to my hometown in Cork within seconds. It was eery how they replicated such an authentic Irish Pub in Canada, right down to the smell. The music was fantastic. Not that old traditional fidlee didlee that you get bored of after 5 songs, but real rocking tunes that people were singing to. Loved it and thank you for the cheapest and fastest flight to Ireland that I have ever taken!! I don't usally write reviews but after I read the last guys I just had to. I recommend McKibbin's highly. That's from a real Irishmen! I should know.
