Trattoria Trestevere, Montreal

I'd have to say that over the 20 years or so I've been going to this restuarant I get sooo ill from eating here that I stay away ( sometimes years) until I forget the last bout with this place. A little money on updating the place wouldn't hurt either! My stomach rejects bad food quickly, typically chinese restuarants ............and well this one! The food quality has gone done considerably, unless you want to spend hours in the toilet, I recommend SKIP unless your stomach can digest anything!!!! And DON'T ORDER ANYTHING EXCEPT TABLE D'HOTE, you're playing with fire! Too bad, used to love it !

This is my absolute favourite restaurant in Montreal! I've been going there for years and I love everything about the service, food, and ambiance! When calling for reservations I always get a "no problem" and when leaving they always say "see you tomorrow" dinner is always so enjoyable and the waiters will say yes to anything you ask!

Awesome food and personalized service.... genuinely Itaian ambiance with Eurpoean style. Was there once and loved it. Went back and they remembered us! Nice touch! Now one of my favorite Italian Restaurants in downtown Montreal!

Trestevere was an early dating destination for me some 30 something years ago. It remains outstanding. Try the zucchini fries, the manicotti, the paillard, with some lemon. the salad fantasia. Delicious. I'm going tonight, can't wait. We catered my brother's engagement party with their manicotti, good move.

As a businessman, I am in business meetings that entail long lunches and dinners on a daily basis. I am also Italian and am very particular in subjecting my customers to fine authentic Italian cuisine. Needless to say, I have experienced dining in just about every Italian restaurant in Montreal. There is one that I remain loyal and committed to over the 30 years it has been in business that I would recommend to any outsider or Montrealer to experience - Trattoria Trestevere. It is without question, the best authentic Italian cusine you will experience in Montreal with charming gracious service and a warm and rich ambience not to mention one of the more moderately priced in the city. You won't regret it!!!!

It has the best Risotto in town & the location is great... right in the core of Downtown!!! service is also a big plus. Price is not a factor when you get it all in return. That'a how I see it.

There was a time when my only dislike about this restaurant was that their smoking section and non-smoking sections were basically the same area but now smokers have to take their business outside in Quebec, there is nothing I don't like about it. "Trat" as we have called this restaurant for the past 13 years that we have been going is probably the best Italian food in the city. If there is something that you are in the mood for, but it is not on the menu, just ask for it. If you want a piece of something and a piece of another, again, just ask. And although they don't advertise it, they will let you do take-out too.
